The way J. K. Rowling wrote “Harry Potter” isn’t entirely about the fun and good side of magic, unlike other stories about witches and wizards such as “Magic for Marigold” and “The Paper Magician.”

That said, it follows that “Harry Potter” is full of darkness and secrets. This phenomenal franchise is dotted with mysteries, such as the Defence Against the Dark Arts, the Death Eaters, and secret locations across the wizarding world. Some of these secret hideaways are depicted in “Hogwarts Legacy,” the game inspired by the “Harry Potter” series.

Allow us to take you on a journey to uncover the best hidden locations you must visit in “Hogwarts Legacy.”

1. Quill Of Acceptance And Book Of Admittance Room

This room may be tiny and thus hidden, but it is touted as the most crucial location in Hogwarts Castle. It is because the Quill of Acceptance and its writings in the Book of Admittance record all people associated with magic. In other words, they track any source of magic in the people of the wizarding world.

Being a secret, this room is not easy to find. It is located all the way up proximate to the Headmaster’s quarters, a place most of you won’t reach unless you are devotedly following Sebastian Sallow’s Slytherin Scriptorium quest. Once you find it, you will realize how this room, founded by the Hogwarts founders themselves, feels utterly distinct from the rest.

2. Honeydukes

Honeydukes has been mentioned a couple of times in the book. It is pretty popular in the novels, but in “Hogwarts Legacy,” this place is considered hidden. Unlike conspicuous locations in Hogsmeade, such as The Three Broomsticks, the Ollivanders wand shop, and Hogsmeade Square, Honeydukes requires you to cast Alohomora to unlock its doors.

This place is found in the town’s northeastern section, but once you do, you can explore it in its entirety. Though you won’t be able to buy any Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans here, it’s still worth your visit.

3. Headmaster’s Private Tower Room

The name says it all. It’s the private tower room of the Headmaster, so it’s a restricted area. But some “Harry Potter” characters fancy breaking the rules, right? So, that doesn’t mean you can’t sneak into this room.

The Headmaster’s Private Tower Room is cozy and elegant, but players usually won’t bother visiting this because it is hidden. Locked behind a Level 3 side door in the Headmaster’s office that requires Alohomora, you can only access this room by climbing a set of stairs leading to the tower spire.

Then, a mesmerizing view of Hogwarts’ surrounding landscape will greet you – bucolic green rolling hills, the vast Black Lake, and even Hogsmeade from a distance. As you enter the balcony door, you will chance upon a small room with a vaulted, spired ceiling, as well as a celestial wallpaper.

It is a must-find, considering the precious books and windows located inside.

4. Hagrid’s Home

Many scenes in the “Harry Potter” movies feature the three heroes, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley, visiting the giant Rubeus Hagrid in his humble hut. But, in “Hogwarts Legacy,” this abode is considered hidden. It is as if Hagrid already lived during the game’s time, right?

Well, inaccuracies aside, the hut where he lives now was vacant during the 1800s. You can revisit his soon-to-be residence by heading south of the wizarding academy, moving toward Lower Hogsfield. The path to Hagrid’s Home may be a bit eerie, but it’s rewarding when you see it for yourself, though Hagrid won’t be there, unfortunately.

5. Stitches And Draughts Shop (Haunted Hogsmeade Shop)

The Stitches and Draughts Shop is an abandoned and derelict store in Hogsmeade. You can only access this shop by starting the Minding Your Own Business side quest in “Hogwarts Legacy.”

Upon completing a specific part of the quest, you can own the shop (with Penny, a house-elf, as your shopkeeper and loyal companion if you wish). You will also be given the freedom to choose the shop’s name (Stitches and Draughts in the header is just an example). Since you are now the owner, you’ll also get the chance to clean up its messy exterior and interior.

6. Astronomy Tower

The Astronomy Tower is also significant in “Harry Potter,” as it is the staging grounds for one of the story’s most iconic yet evil acts, the death of Albus Dumbledore in the hands of Severus Snape.

However, in “Hogwarts Legacy,” it just serves as a run-of-the-mill classroom that you can visit anytime during your free time or in your Astronomy assignments. To find it, simply access your map and head to the Astronomy Tower Floo Network node.

7. Pitt-Upon-Ford

Pitt-upon-Ford is a wizarding hamlet that many players miss because it is situated on the outskirts of the map, deep in the woodlands, and beyond the Forbidden Forest. But, it is a loss if you won’t see this place as it is breathtaking, lush, and quaint. According to the map, Pitt-upon-Ford means “place by a shallow river.” Indeed, it is by a river, but it is never shallow, considering how beautiful it is to look at.

Here, you can find verdant flora and fun fauna in spectacular, cozy colors, as well as cute cats you can pet, like how you can pet cats in “Assassin’s Creed Mirage.” Be sure to head over here right away. It’s a place that deserves a listing on Airbnb.

Other amazing hidden locations to visit in “Hogwarts Legacy” are Hogwarts Kitchen, Secret Underbridge Passage (not Umbridge), Hogsmeade Station, and the Pond with a View. While visiting these places won’t give a lot of rewards, if not without rewards, they are the perfect way to feast your eyes. It’s a visual spectacle like no other.
