“Pokémon GO” and “Final Fantasy XIV” are among the games offering themed treats in-game this Valentine’s Day, including new gameplays to enjoy and fabulous rewards.
“Pokémon GO” is a free-to-play augmented reality mobile game by Niantic where players – using their mobile devices with GPS – locate, capture, train, and battle virtual Pokémons, which appear as if they are in the gamer’s real-world location.
Meanwhile, “Final Fantasy XIV” is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game or MMORPG developed and published by Square Enix. The game is set in the fictitious realm of Eorzea, where players take control of a customized avatar as they explore the land. They will get caught up in an invasion by the hostile Garlean Empire and the threat of the primals, deities of the land’s beastmen tribes. Eventually, they are to be embroiled in a plot by a Garlean Legatus to destroy the primals by bringing one of the planet’s moons down on Eorzea.
Valentine’s Day treats from ‘Pokémon GO’
The first details of “Pokémon GO’s” Valentine’s Day event have finally leaked. Interestingly, the details come from the App Store. In the game’s listing, the “What’s New” section discusses a “Valentine’s Day event and Luvdisc Limited Research Day.” As of press time, game developer Niantic has not provided any official details about the Valentine’s Day event, but they will indeed reveal more in the coming days. The screenshot of the App Store listing was also shared by @PokemonGOHubNet on Twitter.
Luvdisc has long been a staple in “Pokémon GO’s” Valentine’s Day events, together with Alomomola. Last year’s Valentine’s Day event of “Pokémon GO,” you can remember that the game featured a Global Challenge and Collection Challenges that players can participate in. It remains a mystery how Niantic will conduct this year’s Valentine’s Day event for the game.
Nevertheless, “Pokémon GO” has already provided details about their events for February. This February 5th, the game’s next Community event will happen, placing Noibat in the spotlight. Noivern is one of the most difficult Pokémons to acquire in the game, so this event should make the gamers happy.
February will also see the “Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn” taking place, both as an in-person event and as a global event that players can also participate.
Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre will make their debut during this, and players who buy a Masterwork Research story during the event can obtain a Shiny Jirachi! Sounds exciting, isn’t it?
Valentine’s Day treats from ‘Final Fantasy XIV’
Meanwhile, here are the Valentine’s day treats from “Final Fantasy XIV.” The game will play host to its own version of Valentine’s Day starting this week. The event will run for a limited time and will provide new rewards for gamers to collect. As per tradition, the game will also introduce a new story to experience alongside the festivities.
The previous holiday featured in “Final Fantasy XIV” was the annual Heavensturn event, in celebration of the Lunar New Year and focused on the Year of the Rabbit. The game’s seasonal holidays last for no more than 14 days at a time, and the rewards from the previous iterations of any given holiday are made available a year after their first debut via the “Final Fantasy XIV” Online Store.
This year’s Valentine’s Day offering in “Final Fantasy XIV” is “Valentione’s Day,” and is slated to start tomorrow, February 1st, beginning at 12 a.m. Pacific time.
The event will conclude two weeks later, on February 15th, just before 7 a.m. Pacific time.
The 2023 version of “Valentione’s Day” has been subtitled “To Thine Own Love Be True,” and the festivities will take place in the woodland city of Gridania. Gridania is among the city-states in the game, situated on the Aldenard continent. It is participate located in the middle of the Black Shroud, a dense forest also referred to as the Twelveswood that serves to separate those hostile toward the Elementals and those helping them.
Players who wish to participate in the Valentine’s Day festivities can accept the level 15 quest “Suited for Affection” by talking to Lisette de Valentione at Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre. In this exact location, the Starlight Celebration was hosted last December 2022.
Of course, there are rewards when players complete the associated quests. This year’s rewards include a new “Eat Chocolate” emote, a Valentione’s Heart Desk they can use in their houses, and a coffer with a Vested or Frilled Emissary’s Attire set based on the player character’s preferred gender.
Be sure not to miss these Valentine’s Day-themed events of “Pokémon GO” and “Final Fantasy XIV.”
