Pokemon Go Introduces Okinawan Shirt Pikachu and Shiny Corsola

Fans of Pokémon GO will be pleased to learn that one of the game’s most popular pocket monsters, Corsola, will receive a Shiny version, as well as an Okinawa Shirt Pikachu. Corsola is a popular favorite among players as well as one of the rarest Pokémon in the mobile game.

The Water/Rock-type Pokémon originally appeared in the Pokémon franchise’s canon in Generation II, before appearing in Niantic’s Pokémon GO in 2017. Corsola can be difficult to catch in Pokémon GO due to its region-specific spawning, as it is only found in tropical parts of the planet.

Corsola is simply one of several region-specific Pokémon in the game. Farfetch’d (available in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong) and Tropius (available in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong) are two Pokémon that can only be caught in specific nations and locations throughout the world (found in Africa and the Middle East). While Corsola is already an uncommon catch in Pokémon GO, its forthcoming Shiny version is going to be much more so.

Niantic, the game’s creator, has confirmed the existence of Shiny Corsola. The business announced the new Shiny Pokémon variety – and verified how players may add it to their Pokédex – in a blog post on PokemonGoLive (via TheGamer).

Shiny Corsola is one of two forthcoming special edition Pokémon developed for the Air Adventures campaign in conjunction with flying firm Skymark, according to the developer. Players may catch both a Shiny Corsola and an Okinawa Shirt Pikachu at the Japanese event, which seeks to provide unique travel experiences.

Both of the new additions will be accessible starting July 22, with the possibility of a Shiny Corsola appearing in any location where its normal form can be found. The Okinawa Shirt Pikachu will be available on the same day, but it can only be caught in Okinawa, Japan, making it one of the game’s rarest Pikachu. Shiny Corsola will be accessible indefinitely, whereas Okinawa Shirt Pikachu will only be available for “about a year.”

Although Okinawa Shirt Pikachu is only available in Japan, Niantic has stated that additional special dressed Pokémon will be released in other areas in the future. If buying Okinawa Shirt Pikachu is out of the question, the Pikachu Libre Costume coming to Pokémon GO could just enough.

Players will be able to find Corsola and its Shiny counterpart in any of the locations where the Pokémon is presently accessible, which includes Florida, Australia (Northern border), Mexico, and the Caribbean. While some trainers may be dismayed to learn how uncommon these two unique additions are, any Pokémon GO users who happen to come across them are in for a great treat.

In addition to the Air Adventures promotion, Pokémon GO fans are looking forward to the Bidoof Breakout event, which will take place on June 25. Players will be able to capture a Bidoof with a higher spawn rate during the limited-time event, as well as a Shiny version, which will remain available after the promotion ends on July 1. There’s a lot going on in the game right now, and with new Pokémon GO events, promos, and Shiny additions being revealed on a daily basis, trainers aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
