This week will all be about Red Dead Online’s Bounty Hunters with discounts, time-limited freebies, and exclusive rewards for players who are brave enough to jump into the role. The holidays which covered this digital Wild West in frost and offered generous treats to all Rockstar Games’ online cowboy journey might be over but it appears like the developer wants to keep the rewards coming.
It may not be a surprise that the studio is continuing to provide existing players gifts to keep them playing and new players a reason to start playing the game considering Red Dead Online just last December became a standalone game.
Red Dead Online, which is available for purchase for a discounted price until February 15, had recently come bundled with Red Dead Redemption 2’s single-player campaign. As this break up was taking place, Rockstar Games also introduced a new feature to its famous Bounty Hunter Role, the Prestigious Bounty Hunter License.
Though it will require a decent amount of in-game currency to obtain, the new credential allows access to even wilder targets and lets players who have reached level 20 to work through an additional 10 more ranks. The developer seems to be providing players all the reasons to begin the new experience.
The development team has sent the call out for all Bounty Hunters across its online world, but the freebies will only be available for a limited time. To encourage players that have yet to jump into the Role’s saddle, Rockstar Games is giving away 1000 Bounty Hunter XP and ammunition for the express repeater to any player who logs in the game this week. Through January 18, Bounty Hunter aspirants can acquire a license for 5 gold bars less, some proper Role clothes for half the price, and other tools of the trade for a lower price.
For those who have already commenced down their Bounty Hunter journey, the game is providing 2x XP on any Legendary Bounties this week. Players will also learn that tracking down the first ten legendary targets and turning them to the authorities will net payers 50% additional reward money on top of the original payment.
If players are looking to make even more money, Prestigious Legendary Bounties – which require a Prestigious Bounty Hunter License – will pay out double the cash. These targets include the newest bounty target to be introduced – the despicable cult leader Virgil “Shepherd” Edwards.
It seems like Rockstar Games is keeping the game’s player base busy with dozens of new content. Most of it appears to be available only for a brief period of time, similar to this week’s Bounty Hunter-focused enjoyment, which provides the same feeling of frequent change.
Not only does this provide players a great reason to keep playing, but it might also allure new players into the game.
