The official Twitter account of Satoru Nii’s popular school delinquent manga, “Wind Breaker,” announced on Thursday that its TV anime adaptation is now in the works. And we agree with what many fans are saying – “finally.”
The tweet, originally Japanese, said with the English translation, “‘WIND BREAKER’ TV animation decided… Original: Satoru Nii… TV animation of “WIND BREAKER” serialized in Magazine Pocket! Animation production is #CloverWorks A teaser visual featuring the main character, Haruka Sakura, has been released.”
CloverWorks is the studio
CloverWorks, a studio best known for co-producing the anime series “SPY x FAMILY” and “DARLING in the FRANXX,” is making a big splash (of green, perhaps) in the anime world, by being announced as the studio to be in charge of turning Nii’s “Wind Breaker” action manga into a TV anime series.
Along with this announcement, a teaser visual was also unveiled and posted with the tweet. However, the staff, cast, and release date are yet to be announced.
Kodansha USA, which publishes the manga’s official English version, said about its story in the description:
“Haruka Sakura wants nothing to do with weaklings—he’s only interested in the strongest of the strong. He’s just started at Furin High School, a school of degenerates known only for their brawling strength—strength they use to protect their town from anyone who wishes it ill. But Haruka’s not interested in being a hero or being part of any sort of team—he just wants to fight his way to the top!”
Fans are excited
Upon hearing this news, many anime fans and viewers expressed their excitement virtually. Many are overjoyed, saying “finally,” the popular manga is getting a television anime adaptation.
Twitterati @mapuudife tweeted in Spanish and when translated to English, would read, “I NEVER LOST FAITH!!! THANK YOU (emoji) THANK YOU (emoji)”
“OH MY GOODDDDDDD,” tweeted @jiina72.
Meanwhile, netizen @hono_dayoooo also replied to the Twitter post of “Wind Breaker’s” official account, saying, “[Really?] Thank you! I was screaming for about a minute lol I’m looking forward to seeing [more of the visuals].”
