Another new look at Captain Jack Sparrow in the upcoming Sea of Thieves and Pirates of the Caribbean crossover event was shown at Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase Extended. Rare and Xbox revealed their collaboration with Disney during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase on June 13, much to the joy of many fans.
The unexpected announcement gave players a first look at what is unquestionably Sea of Thieves’ largest update yet, which will be available for free on Thursday, June 22. The Pirates of the Caribbean crossover content, aptly named A Pirate’s Life, will see more than just Captain Jack Sparrow enjoys the nautical action. Several other classic PotC characters, like the enigmatic Calypso, who narrates the film, the evil Davy Jones, and Mr. Gibbs, were also glimpsed or mentioned throughout the reveal trailer.
Another digital event, the Xbox Games Showcase Extended, was held by Microsoft, and it featured a second gameplay video for Sea of Thieves’ much-anticipated A Pirate’s Life expansion. So naturally, Jack Sparrow and a few other well-known Pirates of the Caribbean characters made an appearance. Still, the new clip also revealed more details on what gamers may anticipate from the free update.
Cosmetics that haven’t been seen before are on the way, and the trailer’s editing suggests that one of them may be Jack’s Black Pearl pirate ship. Sea of Thieves players will also be able to visit brand-new locations and face off against terrifying new foes such as the Ocean Crawlers, Phantoms, and Sirens, some of whom appear to be based on Davy Jones’s crew the film trilogy.
This may be the most exciting content release in the history of Sea of Thieves. One of the main selling factors is, of course, Jack Sparrow, but the mystery plot seems fascinating as well. Who doesn’t want to know more about the Kraken that appears at the conclusion of the aforementioned trailer? Fans of the Sea of Thieves can learn all about it in only a few days.
The shared-world adventure game was published in 2018 by Xbox and Rare to largely negative reviews from critics and fans alike. On the other hand, Sea of Thieves has developed significantly in the previous three years, becoming one of Xbox’s must-play titles.
