Playing alone is still joyful, especially if you are the type of person who likes to explore the worlds in your games without others distracting you, does not like competition, or does not want somebody teaming up with you. But it’s also still fun to play your favorite games with a companion.

Let’s go ahead and end this week right by revealing some of the best and most-played split-screen games on Steam. We’re basing this list here on PVP Live with the list of the most-played split-screen games as presented by SteamDB’s Steam Charts. SteamDB is your ultimate database of everything on Steam.

1. In Rank 1: ‘EA SPORTS FC 24’

Ranking first is none other than “EA SPORTS FC 24.” From EA Sports, together with EA Romania and EA Vancouver, this is an association simulation video game that follows football as its theme.

It is the inaugural and debut installment in the EA Sports FC series, following the FIFA video game series after the partnership of Electronic Arts with FIFA ended with “FIFA 23.”

From the moment you buy the game, things are already exciting. For instance, the cover art for the game’s Standard Edition features Erling Haaland, the talented striker for Manchester City.

“EA SPORTS FC 24” is home to more than 19,000 fully licensed players, more than 700 teams, over 100 stadiums, and over 30 leagues across world football. Indeed, the strength in numbers. Let this game welcome you to the club.

Up next are the rest of the best split-screen games on Steam, based on the list on SteamDB.

2. ‘Stardew Valley’

Can you even believe that “Stardew Valley” has made it as the runner-up on SteamDB’s list of most-played split-screen Steam games? It is interesting because the graphics and visuals of this game are not as realistic as other popular games around. But there must be a reason why it’s one of the most-played.

This farm life simulation game has players taking on the role of a character who has just inherited the dilapidated farm of their grandfather, who just passed away. The farm is in a place known as Stardew Valley. Plant the best crops every season, along with other things you can do. Grow the farm given to you by your beloved granddad.

3. ‘Project Zomboid’

If you are getting bored of the zombies you see in “Resident Evil” – hey, “Resident Evil” is not yet mentioned on this list even – then you can turn to “Project Zomboid.”

Developed by The Indie Stone, a British and Canadian independent developer, this open-world and isometric video game takes place in the post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested exclusion zone of Knox County in Kentucky, but fictional.

Here, players must survive for as long as they can before they die, inevitably.

4. ‘Rocket League’

“Rocket League” is the marriage between soccer and cars. Cars playing soccer? Yes, you got it.

From Psyonix, this game, described as “soccer, but with rocket-powered cars,” is easy to understand. Play it like how you play soccer, but you control cars as your players rather than human beings. Crazy, but real.

This game includes both single-player and multiplayer modes that gamers can play both locally and over the Internet, including cross-platform gameplay between all versions.

5. ‘Brawlhalla’

It sounds like “brouhaha,” but “Brawlhalla” is not even close to the meaning of that word, so don’t worry. Developed by Blue Mammoth Games, this is a free-to-play fighting game that will treat you to numerous game modes. Won’t bore you.

But, in most of its game modes, the goal is to knock your opponent into one of four areas outside the map’s visual boundaries. The map is referred to as blastzones.

This can be done by forcing your opponents into one of the blastzones with an attack. Otherwise, preventing them from coming back to stage and letting gravity force them into the bottom blastzone. It’s a fighting game, so it can be noisy, too.

6. ‘ARK: Survival Ascended’

Do you love dinosaurs? Then, it would be best if you played this game. Developed and published by Studio Wildcard, “ARK: Survival Ascended” is your action-adventure survival video game.

Unlike any game, it uses Unreal Engine 5 to reimagine its entirety. In “ARK: Survival Ascended,” you can form your very own tribe, tame and breed hundreds of dinosaurs and other primeval creatures, explore, build, craft, and fight your way toward the top of the prehistoric food chain. Just like how the early beings did before! Your new world awaits.

7. ‘eFootball 2024’

This list started with “EA SPORTS FC 24,” which takes on the world of football. The sport is taking great strides as another game featuring football has made it here, “eFootball 2024.”

According to the game’s official page on Konami, its developer, its goal is “to offer football fans around the world an opportunity to enjoy a new football game, with unparalleled realism like never before.”

With the inclusion of the co-op feature, players can enjoy the best and most heated matches with their friends, too. Let the fierce battle begin!

8. ‘It Takes Two’

With this name, “It Takes Two” is easily recognizable as a split-screen game. It’s another game from Electronic Arts that made it to this list.

Developed by Hazelight Studios, this game is playable only as either an online game or a local split-screen cooperative multiplayer between two gamers. Moreover, it features a large number of game mechanics from different video game genres.

The rest of the most-played split-screen games on Steam, according to SteamDB, are “NBA 2K24,” “NBA 2K23,” “EA SPORTS FIFA 23,” “Party Animals,” “Overcooked! 2,” “F1 23,” and “Divinity: Original Sin 2,” among others. Have a great weekend, you guys!
