For a game to be well-appreciated, contributions from players are valued highly, such as with the game “Overwatch 2,” wherein artworks from gamers inspired by it add to the excitement of play.
A talented “Overwatch 2” gamer took to Reddit to share a skin concept they created, which combines the game’s Sombra with Lucy from “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners,” and the community is loving it.
Sombra x Lucy
“Overwatch 2” is a first-person shooter game from the development and publication by Blizzard Entertainment. Since this game is a hero shooter, players are divided into two teams as they choose a “hero” from a roster of 35 characters.
One of the characters in “Overwatch 2” is Sombra. Sombra is a Damage hero in “Overwatch.”
According to her profile page on “Overwatch’s” official website, Sombra is among the “world’s notorious hackers.” She uses information to manipulate those in power.
“As she works to uncover the truth behind a shadowy global conspiracy, Sombra has joined the ranks of Talon, exploiting their resources for her own ends,” the website added.
Meanwhile, “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners” is a web anime series based on CD Projekt Red’s “Cyberpunk 2077.”
One of the characters in “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners” is Lucy, known by her full name Lucyna Kushinada. She is a netrunner and deuteragonist in the web anime series, which takes place during 2076 in the “Cyberpunk” series.
Lucy worked as an Arasaka netrunner during her childhood, only to flee with some of her colleagues after the daemon-related incident unraveled that their work was far riskier than it was worth.
The skin concept
The Lucy and Sombra skin concept was by Redditor u/artist_requiem, where they show Sombra’s hair in Lucy’s hair color and style while keeping parts of her original look like her skin tone and facial features intact.
Also, Sombra wears the same outfit Lucy also wears. Altogether, the end result is a concept that creatively fuses the appearances of these two characters who share a common talent: their strong bond with technology and information.
As expected, the Reddit community is loving her work of art. Some suggest that she does more fusion like that but with other characters. As of this time of writing, the artist’s post has been upvoted almost 5,000 times.
