A certain “World of Warcraft: Dragonflight” player has serendipitously discovered an interesting detail with the Baby Murloc, which is offered to gamers via the in-game store.
The shop of “World of Warcraft: Dragonflight” is known to offer character boosts, expansion upgrades, and various cosmetic options for additional purchase, among many others. But one thing about the Baby Murloc back-slot transmog, which the player has discovered, is more incredible in function compared with what the advertisement suggests.

The player, who goes by the username Dack-janiels on Reddit, pointed out on the social media platform that the Baby Murloc from the shop of “World of Warcraft: Dragonflight” changes in such a way that gamers may not have anticipated once they engage in combat.
It has gone through several changes over the years. However, the concept of a Baby Murloc was first introduced in “World of Warcraft” during a Burning Crusade Zangarmarsh questline, and the small member of the aquatic species has appeared several times along the way since then.
It was in 2021 when the Baby Murloc Satch-Shells were introduced to the in-game store. Since that time, many “World of Warcraft” fans have bought the cosmetic, but one particular detail about the item has gone unappreciated until now.
Dack-janiels recently posted a “World of Warcraft: Dragonflight” screenshot showcasing their Blood Elf character in two different poses on Reddit. One is in a neutral posture, and the other is taking a combat stance.
The Baby Murloc on its back sits up with curious eyes as it faces behind the “World of Warcraft” Blood Elf when the armor-glad hero is standing still. But, when attacking an enemy, the Baby Murloc swiftly hides until it is safe to emerge. True to its name, the Satch-Shell Baby Murloc will crawl back to its shell when the gamer initiates combat, with only two tiny eyes peaking through the darkness in anticipation of the conclusion of the battle.

For instance, Reddit user notred369 commented, “Imagine being tricked into going on a murlock field trip to end up being tied to the back of one of the most psychotic paladins to exist in universe” – to which another user LoreBotHS responded, saying, “Truly, an enlightening experience.”
Reddit user xanderg4, meanwhile, got curious. They wrote, “What is this and where/how do I get it?”

Furthermore, portable_account said this “fits perfectly between the totems on the highmountain tauren heritage chest.”
Meanwhile, selkiesidhe said it is “cute,” adding, “Dang well now I gotta make a murloc themed outfit just for that…”
The Activision Blizzard post about this Baby Murloc Satch-Shells item suggests the eggshells the tiny creatures hide in during combat are their homes, explaining their sense of comfort in them.
Players can choose between three color variants for the Baby Murloc: blue, green, and red. They can also be able to transmog the Baby Murloc on any of the characters on one Activision Blizzard account.
However, players will not be able to unlock the Baby Murloc as it is from Dack-janiels’ post as they play the latest expansion content. Yet, a Baby Murloc battle pet is available for free in the MMO. Players who utilize the “World of Warcraft” shop can purchase the Baby Murloc-Satch Shells for $14.
