Instagram’s “link in bio” has been helping its users connect better with their customers, clients, subscribers, followers, fans, and more. This “link in bio” feature on the popular social media platform means a clickable URL will appear in your Instagram profile description, providing essential information about your business and your products if you are a business owner. It usually links to your corporate website or business page on the platform so that contacts can get in touch with you.

This time, Instagram is enhancing the way this feature works as it now allows users to add up to five links to their “link in bio.” The company announced this improved feature earlier this week.

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, Instagram’s parent company, made the announcement via his Instagram broadcast channel and said this is “probably one of the most requested features we’ve had.”

How to make this happen

Here is how you can take advantage of this new feature. First, launch Instagram on your device. Then, tap on your account.

After doing so, tap the Edit profile button in the top left corner just beneath your profile picture. Then, tap Add link. Then, tap Add external link.

Once done, you can start typing the URL and the link title you want your followers to see. Then, tap the blue tick.

To add more links, tap the Add external link once more. Voila! You’ve just done it!

To delete one or more links from your bio on Instagram, start by tapping the Edit profile button. Then, tap Links.

Once done, tap on the link you wish to remove. Then, tap the red Remove link button. Finally, tap Remove to confirm once prompted.

Meta’s 2nd round of layoffs

Employee layoffs are, unfortunately, still looming over various tech companies, including Meta Platforms, Inc.

Meta has started another series of company-wide layoffs as part of its attempt to restructure teams toward its founder and CEO’s goal of greater efficiency.

The social media giant is laying off employees, particularly those working on technical roles, in its second round of massive layoffs.

A memo reported by the media said Meta had already notified managers early yesterday to prepare for these job cuts.

These are company-wide, as they will affect not only Facebook but also WhatsApp, Instagram, and Reality Labs. Reality Labs is Meta’s business and research unit producing virtual reality and augmented reality hardware and software, including the renowned virtual reality headset Quest.

Ten thousand positions will be laid off, as Zuckerberg announced last March. But that’s not all. It has been said that there will be another wave of layoffs this May. It could be remembered that Meta has already cut around 13 percent of its workforce, or approximately 11,000 jobs, last November.
