Several reality competitions have attempted to topple it – you’ve got the likes of “Squid Game,” “Perfect Match,” “Love Island Australia,” “Big Brother,” and so much more – but none can ever beat the glory of “The Amazing Race.”

First, “The Amazing Race” is a multi-Emmy Award-winning reality series currently airing on CBS. If that’s not enough to prove its credibility, the show now has 35 seasons, perhaps more than many shows around. And the prize money at stake is $1 million.

“The Amazing Race” gets pairs going head to head against each other, traveling and trekking the globe, and performing challenges for the ultimate prize. It’s really a last-man-standing (or last-pair-standing, shall we say) show, you guys.

Are you wondering which “The Amazing Race” seasons are the best? Here’s the rundown of the seasons that left an indelible mark on viewers’ hearts.

What’s The Best Season So Far? The Crowned Winner – Season 1

Well, well, well – “The Amazing Race” has to start with a bang. It has to step its best foot forward. So, its first season is the best among the rest, and many would agree.

This debut season saw 11 teams embarking on a journey around the world, with destinations that include Central Park in New York, Los Angeles, Zambia, China, and France. The pair comprised of Rob Frisbee and Brennan Swain emerged as the winners.

The Rest Of The Best ‘The Amazing Race’ Seasons

Runner-Up: Season 3

It did not take so long before the reality show produced another unforgettable season: in the persona of Season 3.

This third season featured destinations such as Florida’s Everglades National Park, Portugal, Morocco, and Vietnam. Interestingly, the pair composed of Zach Behr and Flo Pesenti won despite their contrasting personalities.

Season 31

With several seasons already, it is just right for “The Amazing Race” production team to think of new teams to keep up with the viewers’ preferences. And they did not falter.

Season 31 of “The Amazing Race” introduced a brand-new twist, particularly featuring teams from previous seasons of the show, as well as those from competing reality shows such as “Big Brother” and “Survivor.”

The competing teams traveled to California’s Hermosa Beach, Switzerland, Vietnam, and Uganda. Christie Woods and Colin Guinn were crowned winners.

Season 24

Season 24 is a very special season. You know why? You get reminded of the 75th Hunger Games. Seriously! But not in terms of the system, but in terms of the format. Like how this edition of the Hunger Games pitted previous Victors – or winners – against each other, this “The Amazing Race” season is known as “All-Stars” as it featured some of the most well-loved teams from previous seasons.

Destinations in this season included Malaysia, Wales, and Italy. Its ending is also quite touching as a father-and-son team won.

Season 19

Another unforgettable “The Amazing Race” edition is Season 19. It kicked off in Pasadena city in California, continuing all the way to Panama, Denmark, and Indonesia. Ernie Halvorsen and Cindy Chiang secured the prize money.

Season 20

Season 19 went back-to-back with the next edition as the best season of the reality show. In Season 20, the locations were more diverse, featuring places like India, Tanzania, and Argentina. Each time a task was completed, the next destination was revealed. Emerging as the winners were Dave Brown Jr. and Rachel Brown.

Season 18

Season 18 is also quite memorable, making this a must-watch season of “The Amazing Race.” Also titled “Unfinished Business,” the show lived up to this name, bringing back former pairs who failed to clinch the winning spot in their initial runs.

The teams in this season traveled to destinations such as Japan, Switzerland, and Australia. The winners were Kisha and Jen Hoffman. They formerly competed in the 14th season. Back with a vengeance, indeed.

Season 6

If you wish to watch “The Amazing Race” in the order of the best seasons, refer to this list. Next up is Season 6.

This season saw teams competing with countries like Senegal, Iceland, and Sri Lanka as their backdrops. The winners were Freddy Holliday and Kendra Bentley, who were also quite memorable because of their intense rivalries with the other competitors.

Season 17

“The Amazing Race” Season 17 kicked off in Gloucester, a vibrant city in Massachusetts, then proceeded to places like Russia, Bangladesh, and Ghana. The winners were Nat Strand and Kat Chang, who are doctors. Their win is also historic as they are the first all-female team to have won the reality competition.

Season 2

Wouldn’t you think Season 2 should be higher up on this list? Well, no, as they are ranked relatively lower. It is baffling because considering that “The Amazing Race” was just starting then, the production team shouldn’t have run out of fresh ideas.

Well, Season 2, which named Chris Luca and Alex Boylan as the winners, featured Brazil, South Africa, and Thailand, among many other places. Nevertheless, this edition was remembered for giving some of the toughest challenges throughout the history of “The Amazing Race.”

Season 23

Another exciting “The Amazing Race” edition is Season 23. This season started in Los Angeles, going all the way to countries such as Norway, Chile, and even the United Arab Emirates in the Middle East. Ultimately, Amy Diaz and Jason Case showed unparalleled determination and resilience, making them bag the grand prize.

Those are some of the seasons of “The Amazing Race,” ranked from the best to the not-so-much. The 35th season ended last December, but not so long from now, a new season will unfold. The 36th season will premiere this March 13th at 9:30 p.m. Eastern Time on CBS. Be sure to tune in!
