60FPS Performance Mode Now Available On The Last of Us Part 2 For PlayStation 5

For PlayStation 5 owners, a free 60fps performance patch for The Last of Us Part II is now available. The Last of Us 2 has received smaller improvements since its release last year, including Grounded difficulty and a permadeath mode. About the fact that Naughty Dog published the Left Behind DLC for The Last of Us, it seems that no DLC for The Last Of Us 2 is in the works.

Despite this, Naughty Dog is already considering opportunities to continue the franchise in a variety of ways. Naughty Dog is reported to be working on a PS5 remake of the original hit, released in 2013.

Though some fans have questioned if such a project is appropriate, the remake could theoretically enhance some of the PS3 original’s dated gameplay elements. Apart from a reboot, the franchise will make its first foray into film, with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey starring Joel and Ellie in an HBO series that has just found its directors. Naughty Dog is continuing to refresh The Last of Us 2 with new updates in 2021, despite being stretched thin between several tasks.

Naughty Dog revealed today on the PlayStation Blog that a new performance mode patch for The Last of Us Part II is now available for PS5 players. Patch 1.08 is a free game update that allows players to select between 30fps and 60fps frame rates.

The Last of Us Part II was designed to run at 30 frames per second on both the standard PS4 and the PS4 Pro when launched in 2020. With the PS5’s newfound capacity, the goal framerate has essentially doubled with this patch. According to the studio, patch 1.08 is “only the first phase in working on the PS5” for Naughty Dog.

The next update for a PS4 game on PlayStation 5 is this recent 60fps patch. Thanks to Sony’s latest console upgraded hardware specifications, games like Ghost of Tsushima and God of War have received updates.

Fans would be ecstatic to return to the game now that it has been improved. This news comes at an exciting time for Naughty Dog, who is rumored to be using the engine from The Last of Us 2 in its reboot of the original.

Not only is a sequel speculated to be in the works, but an HBO Max show based on the first game is also in the works, and when it debuts, it will only serve to popularize the series further. The Last of Us has become a hugely popular franchise for PlayStation, and it’ll almost certainly continue in the future.
