Among Us Coming to Xbox and Xbox Game Pass Next Year

Finally, Among Us, the hit game that swept the world in 2020, will be coming to Xbox and the Xbox Game Pass, the console’s subscription service next year, according to a recent post on Twitter by the company. Since the start of the game’s launch, it has only been available to play on mobile devices, and then eventually on the PC, but it looks like consoles are starting to step into the spotlight with this multiplayer title.

Among us is a game that has been in the market since 2018 but lately had a large following in popularity, so much so that it has become one of the most viewed games on Twitch. It also received various nominations at The Game Awards this year and has won Best Mobile Game of the Year and Best Multiplayer Game, so there’s no scarcity of how much this game has been fun for everyone. Among Us is free to play and is rather easy to understand, so it’s no surprise that consoles are beginning to introduce the game into their systems.

Xbox lately replied to a tweet from Xbox Game Pass for PC that was advertising the game, simply stating “*pops out of vent* Oops, we’ve been caught.” After this, Xbox claimed that the game will be coming to its consoles, as well as to Xbox Game Pass in 2021, which means it will be arriving soon as the new year is just right around the horizon.

Xbox is not the first console to integrate Among Us to its console. Nintendo Switch recently launched the game on the eShop. However, in that port fans don’t have to pay for the game – but it’s only $5 – so it’s not like someone would empty their pockets to try and download the game on the Nintendo Switch with their games.

There haven’t been any new updates about whether PlayStation will be adding the game too on its consoles, but with how it has been performing with the others, fans shouldn’t be surprised if news comes with the next few weeks from Sony.

Again, Among Us has been on top of the charts for months now, so much that players have modded it with various different ways to play it. During the recently concluded The Game Awards, the game’s developers announced that they were going to be releasing a new map next year around March, one that will be a crossover between Henry Stickman and Among Us. These new improvements and the ability to easily team up with friends have been some of the reasons why many gamers have flocked to the game.
