RUMOR: Apex Legends’ Nintendo Switch Launch Date May Have Leaked

Many Apex Legends fans have been waiting for major news about Respawn Entertainment’s hero shooter battle royale. Now, there may be some good news for Nintendo Switch users who have been patiently waiting for the Apex Legends port to be released.

Ever since developer Respawn Entertainment released Apex Legends back in 2019, the first-person shooter quickly became one of the biggest titles in the battle royale scene. Since then, the game continued to grow and thrive. 2021 will be bringing a lot of exciting things to the table for Apex Legends, including the imminent Nintendo Switch version.

According to the Twitter account Apex Legends News, there’s a Japanese trailer for the game with a description that gives fans the idea that Apex Legends for the Nintendo Switch is going to be released on February 2, 2021. This date coincides with when Season 8 is supposed to launch on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, bringing with it several new features and content like a brand-new playable Legend.

If this rumor is proven to be correct, then Switch users will be able to dive right into Apex Legends as soon as Season 8 begins.

Apex Legends Season 8 is going to be a big and memorable event, as February 4 marks the game’s second-year anniversary. If the Nintendo Switch port will truly be released on February 2 of this year, then this would mean that it will be launching almost two years to the game’s original launch date in 2019.

Nintendo Switch users have been waiting for quite a while now for this version of Apex Legends, especially since other popular titles such as Fortnite and Overwatch are both playable on the Switch. As such, when the game was announced last year, users of the hybrid handheld console were thrilled.

Since that initial reveal though, the port’s release had to be delayed, and there was a noticeable lack of updates from Respawn Entertainment. Naturally, this confused and worried fans. If Apex Legends for the Nintendo Switch is truly almost ready, many fans will surely jump at the opportunity to finally play the game on their respective consoles.
