Ubisoft unveiled a new epic monster for Kassandra and Alexios to find and destroy on November 13, 2020. Steropes – The Lightning Bringer is a cyclops of high rank. His quest is immediately added to your inventory under the Bounties tab, indicating that it is indeed a Bounty. But there’s no need to hurry. It doesn’t expire, so you can take your time or go ahead and destroy it right away.
The quest is simply titled “The Lightning Bringer,” and it is recommended for characters level 50 and up. Steropes resides on Andros, the same island that houses the Ancient Forge. You’ve already figured out how to get to the Forge quickly, so just get there, leave, and head west. He can be found in a small cave on the northern shore of Steropes Bay.
How To Defeat Steropes, The Lightning Bringer
If you’re playing in the easiest setting, simply enter the cave and begin slashing. In less than a minute, you’ll be finished. On Normal and higher difficulties, however, you must be aware of Steropes’ special attacks.
He has a large AoE because he is a giant beast. When you see him about to do something, be alert and dodge back and away. Some of his attacks deal damage in a 360-degree cone. Switch away from Steropes as he begins stomping the water and shoot him with your bow before the channeled assault stops.
Steropes is about to run towards you when he puts his right hand in front of his eyes. You can dodge to the left, allowing you to do some nice damage from behind him. After the “rush attack,” Steropes remains motionless for a short period of time – get close and strike him hard, then dodge away until he reaches you.
Start moving when Steropes raises his left hand (with the weapon) high above his head. This is a powerful frontal assault with a long-range (the guy has long arms :P). It also sends waves in a straight line, which you can easily stop by moving or dodging. He does a sequence of these in a row later in the war (unless he hits you with one, in which case he cancels the next one) (s).
When you get too close to Steropes, he can try to hit you with his right hand. Dodging this one at the right time gives you a great chance to go into “slow-mo” and land a few hard hits.
The assault where Steropes bends forward and starts smashing the water, causing AoE waves of damage under your feet is the one that irritates me the most. The assault spawns under your current position, so keep moving while he’s at it.
If you want to take the simple route, hunter builds are the way to go. Use any moment you’re not with him to fire arrows and increase your anger. I used my favorite Warrior Build, which took a little longer to defeat because I dodged and rolled away a few times just to be healthy.
When you destroy Steropes, you will receive his Legendary Bow, which has the following stats:
+ Hunter Damage (15% at level 50)
+ Damage with Bow Charged Shot (10% at level 50)
+20% Health and Armor (Legendary Engraving)
An Empty Engraving Slot
That’s all I have to say about the Steropes Cyclops Epic Boss in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. I hope you find this short reference guide to be helpful. As you can see, the fight isn’t one of the hardest or longest in the game, and it’s not too difficult to win. The prize is a favorable Hunter Build bow.
