Atlus To Celebrate Persona 5 Strikers Launch On Twitch

The Persona franchise has been a fairly popular one since its initial release, but what appears to be a major jackpot for Atlus was the release of Persona 5. The title was originally released back in 2016, where it was nominated for various awards for The Game Awards event of that same year.

Since then, Atlus released other spin-off titles under Persona 5, such as the rhythm game Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, and a revamped version of the initial game entitled Persona 5 Royal. Now, Atlus will be releasing Persona 5 Strikers, a direct sequel of the first game but with a different twist.

Persona 5 Strikers isn’t exactly a brand-new game—it was first launched in Japan almost a year ago. However, it never got released outside of the country, until this year. More specifically, the English release of the game will be launched next week. What makes this sequel even more exciting, apart from the fact that it’s connected to the popular Persona 5 game, is that it introduces brand-new characters and deviates from the series’ turn-based gameplay.

Persona 5 Strikers will be utilizing a musuo-style gameplay, something like the hack and slash mechanics of Dynasty Warriors. Musuo-style gameplay wasn’t that popular in the past, but it seems as if it’s growing in popularity in recent years. The Legend of Zelda franchise also released a hack and slash prequel to Breath of the Wild last year called Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, and it was a fairly successful hit.

Seeing as Persona 5 Strikers is set to release soon in the west, developer Atlus announced that it will be hosting a special launch livestream on Twitch to celebrate the game’s launch. The livestream in question will take place on February 18, which is a few days prior to the official launch on February 23.

Atlus made the announcement on Twitter, with a sneak peek of what fans can expect from the stream. With that in mind, players can look forward to a panel discussion featuring the English voice actors and actresses of the upcoming game. Asides from that, Atlus developers will be giving special messages, among other things.

On February 18, 2021 at 9 AM PST, simply head on over to the official Twitch channel of Atlus West to watch the livestream. It’s clear to see that excited players and critics are both excited to dive into Persona’s universe once again, with Persona 5 Strikers garnering an overwhelming amount of positive reviews this week.

Persona 5 was exclusively released on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, but now, more players from other platforms will be able to experience what Atlus has to offer. Persona 5 Strikers will also be released on Nintendo Switch and PC, expanding the series’ already massive fanbase.

Western fans are also beyond excited to hear the performance of the English dub cast, especially since the characters from franchise are highly beloved. Some of the voice cast, specifically Erika Harlacher, the voice of Ann Takamaki, and Cassandra Lee Morris, the voice of Morgana, explained that the reason why it took so long to finish recording for the game was because of none other than COVID-19 restrictions.
