Turtle Rock Studios’ Back 4 Blood is set to release in a couple of months, and now more details about the upcoming title has been revealed. Like many video games these days, Back 4 Blood will have different editions for you to purchase, and one of these is the Ultimate Edition.
Before you decide to preorder this edition, though, you may want to know what you can expect from it to ensure that you don’t get disappointed during launch. Fortunately, the game’s official website has a short list detailing what each edition entails.
Back 4 Blood is described by the developer as “a cooperative first-person shooter, zombie horror game with a heavy emphasis on multiplayer and replayability.” The emphasis on the latter will most likely be familiar to those gamers who were avid fans of Turtle Rock’s previous work, the Left 4 Dead franchise.
The upcoming title supports up to four players, allowing you and your friends to fight your way through hordes upon hordes of vicious and hungry infected. Seeing as it’s going to be a multiplayer experience, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Turtle Rock Studios has an Ultimate Edition that contains all kinds of additional content.
For one thing, the Back 4 Blood Ultimate Edition will, of course, come with the base game, which was previewed during last year’s The Game Awards. While all three editions naturally include the base game, the Ultimate Edition, in particular, gives you a 4-day early access.
This is a common bonus included in game bundles such as this, and it gives those who buy it the opportunity to play Back 4 Blood four days before the game’s actual launch. It has already been confirmed that Back 4 Blood will have post-launch DLC, in fact, it will even have live service elements.
Fortunately, those who purchase the Ultimate Edition will already have access to the Annual Pass. This means that players will be able to experience three DLC drops that contain new special enemies, new stories, as well as new characters and more.
Unlike the Back 4 Blood Digital Deluxe Edition, this premium bundle offers extra cosmetics. More specifically, those who purchase the Ultimate Edition will also receive a Battle-Hardened Character Skin pack. That’s not all though, the top-tier edition also gives you bonus in-game rewards, such as a Rare Banner, Emblem, Spray, and Title.
So, if you want to dive into the complete Back 4 Blood zombie killing experience, then getting the Ultimate Edition will definitely suit your needs.
It’s not a new thing for studios to offer bundles that are available in different tiers, especially when it comes to multiplayer games. Although sometimes, it may feel like the rewards offered aren’t that significant or necessary to the title’s gameplay. As such, it makes you wonder if a certain edition is really worth it or if you should just stick to the standard.
In other words, there’s a lot you need to consider before you decide on which edition to get. If you do get the Ultimate Edition though, at least it will have the Annual Pass as well as early access to the game, which makes us think that it’s worth it.
