Call of Duty Mobile is a big game with new maps and modes being added all the time. As a result, some Call of Duty Mobile content is often cycled in and out of the game as time passes, with the same mindset evident in the game’s battle royale playlists.
The second season of Call of Duty Mobile has begun, adding a slew of new content to the iconic FPS. The most recent community post for the game goes through all of the game’s additions, removals, and finer depth plans.
The updates being made to the battle royale mode are among the most intriguing. Although the primary battle royale map in Call of Duty Mobile will remain unchanged, the secondary map will no longer be kept in rotation.
Alcatraz was launched as a small-scale battle royale map in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode, and the area proved to be a common alternative to the traditional battle royale format. As a result, it reappeared in Call of Duty: Warzone as Rebirth Island and Call of Duty Mobile.
Despite its popularity in the past, Alcatraz will no longer be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is because, in recent weeks, player interest in the map has been much smaller than in typical battle royale gameplay.
Fortunately, Alcatraz will return to the game regularly, with an April 9 release date reported. Furthermore, if players restore confidence and play the map often, TiMi Studios can make the map permanent once more, giving hope to Alcatraz fans.
The update also listed a new Truck vehicle type, which can accommodate up to six players at once. Players will use abilities and shoot arms from the truck’s cargo bed, making it more functional than simply a transportation mode.
Finally, TiMi Studios teased a special video illustrating how the game mode works, emphasizing the new mode Tank Battle. It will have players gathering 5 pieces of scrap to build their own tanks, and it has been described as “unlike anything” seen for the game so far.
There will also be some anti-tank guns on the map and a welding tool for tank repair. Three different types of tanks would be available to build, adding to the mode’s scope. From March 19 to March 25, Tank Battle will be available.
Players will enjoy the battle royale’s Blitz Mode until March 18 while waiting for Tank Battle to come. While the latest content looks intriguing, some fans will be disappointed to learn that the Alcatraz map is leaving the rotation — at least they now know when it will return.
