So far, the Call of Duty franchise has been on a steady rise with no signs of it stopping anytime soon. In fact, Call of Duty: Mobile recently celebrated its first year, and from what we can see, the free-to-play shooter has been doing really well, too.
Going into specifics, Call of Duty: Mobile amassed $480 million from October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020. From that amount, $215 million came from the U.S. fanbase alone.
If you calculate everything, this amount puts Call of Duty: Mobile at third in overall revenue, with Fortnite and PUBG Mobile on top of the ranks. That being said, it appears that Call of Duty’s mobile version has been really hitting it off with gamers because the title was able to reach another milestone aside from the aforementioned one.
Call of Duty: Mobile was able to reach a total of 270 million downloads, and the title has hit about 100 billion hours played monthly. The developers have so much planned for the mobile version, as players are currently awaiting Season 11 already.
For this upcoming eleventh season, players can expect a bunch of cool new features such as new weapons, as well as the Advanced UAV scorestreak that’s also present in other games.
As for Modern Warfare and Warzone, both are currently being prepped for Season 6. So, it’s safe to say that Call of Duty fans will be able to enjoy new content no matter where they turn.
Even though the mobile game has already been seeing satisfactory numbers, there’s one other piece that can make it increase even more: the addition of Warzone. Even though the title already has its own Battle Royale mode, the rumor that Warzone is making its way to mobile devices can only mean great things.
For one thing, players will finally be able to keep their progress and they would no longer need to distribute their efforts between two different game modes. Also, fans will be able to play the same battle royale from three different games and platforms because Black Ops Cold War, Warzone, and Modern Warfare will be heavily intertwined with each other.
There are rumors floating around about Call of Duty: Mobile, as well, and if they’re true, then it looks like this mobile title will definitely stand out from its console equivalents. On a Reddit post, one of the game’s developers hinted to the fans that there’s a chance for Call of Duty: Mobile to have a night mode.
You see, fans have been asking the developers for a night mode feature for literally years. As such, the mobile game would definitely experience a significant boost if it implemented a night mode feature before the consoles do.
In any case, there’s a ton of stuff you can do on Call of Duty: Mobile right now, and more are soon to come once Season 11 goes live. For instance, you can even enjoy a spooky Halloween-themed version of the mobile game. Just like in Warzone, there will be an upcoming seasonal event that you can look forward to in Mobile.
We have high hopes for Call of Duty: Mobile, and we’re sure that the mobile title will be reaching even more milestones in the future.
