Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone new update

The new update for Call of Duty Modern Warfare and COD Warzone is expected to drop today, September 1, for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Activision confirmed that the changes will affect playlists on both games, there is also no new weapon balancing reported. The Games of Summer and King Slayer are still in Warzone alongside the Blood Money Quads, for MW multiplayer, fan-favorite Shoot the Ship playlist makes a return. Players will also enjoy double Battle Pass Tier Progression, Double XP, and Double Weapon XP all day on September 7. Depending on how big the planned update is, an evening release in the UK might happen.

There are some new bundles that players can choose from as well: ‘The Game Winner’ bundle for Gaz which includes a jersey-like Operator skin, a Legendary assault rifle, and the ‘Footy’ weapon charm. The ‘Mara: Kawaii Cat’ bundle which is a 10-item bundle that includes colorful vehicle skins, the Aomi melee swords, and a Legendary blueprint “the Slaying Moon.”

The Free Access Gunfight Tournament is finishing up in Warzone on September 2, this leaves Activision a window to launch a playlist update. There is still so much happening in-game though, it will be interesting to see what Activision has planned this week. Further changes to the Warzone map have been hinted at, but it is still unclear when this might happen.

During the Call of Duty League celebrations, some eagle-eyed fans spotted a new Easter egg, after Dallas Empire won the CDL Champs Event. There seemed to a subway station which appeared near the Verdansk Stadium, this area has already seen some big changes. however, this is not something to expect this week and is more likely to be planned for Season 6.

Some other features that are possibly coming to the game in the coming weeks might include Creator Code support for Warzone and Modern Warfare. This is still a rumor for now but data miners have found a lot of evidence to suggest this could come before the end of 2020. More information about Black Ops is expected to drop this week, although it will not be anything like what is being planned for September 9.

The official multiplayer reveal for Black Ops Cold War is happening this month. It is expected to include plenty of info for Warzone gamers as both games will share a Battle Pass after Cold War launches on November 13 and this should mean that there will be plenty of cross-support between all titles.

The shared progression will add inventory items that can be used in both titles. and Warzone players will still have access to previously earned content in Modern Warfare, like Operators and weapon blueprints. More information will be announced at a later date.
