During Tesla’s 2023 annual shareholder meeting, Elon Musk stressed that there are two new electric vehicles in the company’s pipeline. The CEO added that the company is now “designing” and “building a new product,” which might indicate one of these EVs now has a prototype.
In the meeting, Tesla also teased the appearance of one of the two EVs through a rendered hatchback-like silhouette. Nonetheless, Musk underscored that the meeting was not the perfect time for unveiling the product, though he promised there would be a launch for the teased EV product. The executive also assured Tesla fans that the company is busy preparing its future offerings.
“I just want to emphasize that we are actually building a new product,” said Musk in the meeting. “We are actually designing a new product. We’re not sitting on our hands here.”
The existence of the two EVs was first shared by Musk during its Investor Day in March, wherein Tesla’s lineup was shown alongside two covered cars. Now, the company seems to be making great advances in the development of these new products, which the company plans to soon advertise in a conventional manner.
According to Musk in the meeting, Tesla will now “try” traditional advertising, which has been embraced by most car brands since their conception. To recall, Musk’s EV company mostly relies on its customers to promote Tesla products. Musk is also known for frequently using his Twitter account to share tweets about Tesla cars. Yet, it seems the company has finally decided to give in to the temptation of the old commercial tactics, especially in informing the public about Tesla vehicles’ latest features and actual prices.
