First God of War Ragnarok Gameplay Trailer Coming Soon – Rumors

According to a fresh report, God Of War: Ragnarök fans will soon witness some gameplay video. The highly anticipated follow-up to 2018’s critically acclaimed God Of War remake was initially announced for the PlayStation 5 in 2020, but things have since taken a turn for the worst.

Though the game, provisionally dubbed God Of War: Ragnarök, was originally set to release later this year, Sony Monica director Cory Balrog decided to push the release date back to 2022. Since then, his company has received threatening letters from disgruntled “fans,” but he and his team remain determined to making Ragnarök the top-tier gaming experience consumers demand when it eventually launches on PS4 and PS5. Now, fans may be able to see the new God Of War in action sooner than they previously anticipated.

On Twitter, Nick Baker, co-founder of XboxEra.com and co-host of the XboxEra Podcast, posted a hypothesis about God Of War: Ragnarök, claiming that Sony will show off some gameplay footage during its forthcoming PlayStation State Of Play livestream event. There’s no indication on when this event will take place, but it will act as Sony’s replacement for the recent E3 2021, which it conspicuously skipped for the third year in a straight.

The narrative of God Of War: Ragnarök is currently unknown, although it is supposed to be based on the titular last battle of Nordic legend, with Kratos facing off against Thor Odinson, the God of Thunder. Atreus, Kratos’ son, may also be completely playable in the upcoming game, according to Santa Monica Studio concept artist Samuel Matthews, who discussed the possibility on a recent podcast.

God Of War: Ragnarök will be interesting to see how the haptic feedback and dynamic triggers of the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller can potentially add to the weight and power of Kratos’ trusty weapons, especially given how the God Of War reboot received high praise for its slower, more close-up combat and exploration.

So yet, Nick Baker’s conjecture is just that – the PlayStation State Of Play event where this announcement is said to take place has yet to be confirmed – but it would make sense for Sony to show off one of its most anticipated exclusives during their virtual E3 alternative.
