With only a few days till Halloween, video games are going all out to get fans in the mood for the macabre holiday. This includes Fortnite, which is starting to divulge information about its upcoming Fortnitemares event. The forthcoming event, dubbed Shortnitemares, will offer a selection of horror-themed animated shorts just in time for Halloween.
Season 8 of Epic Games’ ever-popular free-to-play battle royale game is currently in its second month. With Fortnite’s v18.21 update, which includes a new central location, weapon, LTM, and more, the story of the enigmatic “Cubed” season has lately evolved.
Shortnitemares, according to the Epic Games website, will have a collection of seven different horror-themed animated shorts for gamers to enjoy. The Fortnite event will run from October 28 at 6 p.m. ET through November 1, and it will be available to watch at any time during that time.
The Shortnitemares films can be viewed by entering the Shortnitemares Theater and selecting the appropriate playlist. Each short can be viewed in its own room. The shorts will also play on a loop in the main area, and Picture-in-Picture will be available for those who can multitask.
The Spray Matter Spray will be awarded to players who watch Shortnitemares for at least 30 minutes. The Shortnitemares-themed Kernel Poppy skin, as well as the Slurpy Slush them Back Bling and Butter Buddy Emote, which sees the character get an unexpected helping hand eating their popcorn, will be released on October 27.
Shortnitemares is the third iteration of the annual Short Nite film festival.
