This Studio Imagines A Future iPhone Inspired By Vision Pro – iPhone News

The unveiling of Apple’s Vision Pro may have already concluded during the company’s WWDC 2023 event earlier this month, but some people still cannot get over it even today. 

ADR Studio Design, a design agency that specializes in branding, design marketing, communication, AR/VR, and Web3, has conceptualized a future iPhone that takes inspiration from Vision Pro. They highlighted not just what the future iPhone’s features will be but also what it will look like.

“ADR Studio Design and Antonio De Rosa are reshaping the future with the innovative iPhone Vision concept. Inspired by the highly-anticipated Apple Vision Pro, iPhone Vision is a step into the next generation of technology,” the studio said on the official page of its design. 

Antonio De Rosa is an award-winning concept designer and brand specialist. 

ADR Studio Design’s latest concept of this Vision Pro-inspired future iPhone shows how it will drastically differ from current iPhones, with features such as a modern-looking camera and a secondary display. 

What are its features?

The design studio said this Vision Pro-inspired iPhone will still offer a premium glass sandwich design like the current models’. But, instead of having a flat frame, its design will have a slightly curved frame for better grip. 

Also, the phone will still have physical power buttons like the present units, but a programmable multi-function action button will be added to it. 

Since Apple’s Vision Pro banks heavily on visuals, one of the significant features of this future iPhone will be its camera island, wherein one of the sensors will be a periscope telephone lens featuring a liquid lens layout. 

This camera island will look different from what is in current iPhones, mainly because it will feature a dual-camera system, LED flash unit, microphone, and even a rectangular secondary display similar to what is found on Xiaomi’s Mi 11 Ultra. 

Plus, the phone is envisioned to offer 8x optical zoom and up to 8k video recording abilities. 

And there’s more. This future iPhone is also expected to feature a display with up to 2200 nits brightness, dual-chip processing with an M2 processor, support for MagSafe wireless charging, and a USB Type-C port, among others.

Other wishes to see iPhone features from Vision Pro

ADR Studio Design’s concept is not the only one existing around that wishes that some Vision Pro features and capabilities be on iPhones. 

One of Digital Trends’ writers, Tushar Mehta, wished for Vision Pro’s spatial FaceTime to be present on future iPhones, too.    

“While our expectation is partially braced by the sheer desire to experience FaceTime in a novel and exciting way without shelling out $3,500, it is also backed by the fact that recent iPhone and iPad Pro models sport the hardware necessary to make that dream a reality,” Mehta said.

South Korean tech conglomerate Samsung had actively participated in the MWC (Mobile World Congress) trade shows until recently. The company has decided to skip the ongoing MWC 2023 being held in Shanghai for “unknown reasons.” Continue reading for the news. 

MWC is an annual trade show and conference for the mobile telecommunications industry. This event gathers representatives from the most prominent mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, and other key players in this industry.

It is organized by GSMA, a non-profit industry organization representing the interests of mobile network operators across the globe. 

Being present at MWC’s trade shows is a chance for companies like Samsung to showcase their products and offerings to the rest of the world. But it appears that Samsung is snubbing MWC’s leg in Shanghai.

Samsung’s absence

Samsung’s absence at the three-day MWC trade show in Shanghai, China’s global financial hub, which concludes today, is the first time the South Korean technology company has not participated in the annual event since least 2017. 

The company was present during the previous MWC event held earlier this year in Barcelona, where it showcased its products, such as the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy Book3 Ultra. 

Last 2021, Samsung did participate in MWC, which was also held in Shanghai, where the company even had a booth.

Samsung has not made a statement regarding this no-show as of press time. The event’s organizer, meanwhile, said it had no response on this absence.

Some of the companies that seized the limelight at MWC 2023 in Shanghai were Huawei, ZTE Corp, and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), among others. 

“Compared with the Barcelona event we just attended, the size of the Shanghai event is smaller, but the technology is more ahead as China continues to drive innovation,” Gilles Garcia, AMD’s senior director for its data center and communications group, said. 

Could it be due to the weakening relations between South Korea, China?

While officially, the reason for Samsung’s absence at the trade show is unknown, some speculations underlined its no-show at MWC Shanghai 2023 is because of the rising tensions between South Korea, which is Samsung’s headquarters, and China. 

Relations between Seoul and Beijing have weakened since the South Korean government denounced China for allegedly committing a “serious diplomatic discourtesy” following a Chinese official’s response to comments made by the South Korean president, Yoon Suk-yeol, on Taiwan, that they are verbal meddling, as reported by South Korean news agency, Yonhap News Agency. 

The trade of semiconductors between South Korea and China has also declined after Seoul decided to align its interests with Washington and Tokyo closely. Washington has restricted exports of semiconductor chips to China because the former believes the latter might use them for propaganda. 

Other absentees

Samsung is not the only no-show at the MWC 2023 in Shanghai. Ericsson – a Swedish telecommunications equipment maker, and Qualcomm – a United States-based developer of semiconductors, software, and services for mobile communications – also snubbed the event. What’s worse, these companies are listed as two of the major corporate sponsors of the event.

News reports say Yaccarino is presently working on a slew of measures to attract advertisers once again and bring them back to Twitter. 

Advertisers hated Twitter since Musk’s takeover

Since Musk’s takeover of Twitter, the platform’s partnerships with advertisers have never been good. 

After his takeover of the popular social media platform at $44 billion last year, several major advertisers slashed their ad spending for Twitter, also a response to his stance on content moderation, controversial posts, and weird leadership style. This move wiped off around 50 percent of Twitter’s $5 billion revenue per year. 

However, it is interesting to note that even before the billionaire’s takeover, Twitter had not been on good terms with advertisers. Various advertisers and investors lambasted the platform for slugging product innovation and offering a weaker system than other social networks like Facebook and TikTok. 

Yaccarino is looking at bringing a revolutionary change to the table. 

Tapping celebrities

The new Twitter CEO is reportedly planning to launch full-screen, sound-on video advertisements to be shown to Twitter users scrolling through the platform’s newest short-video feed feature. 

Moreover, Yaccarino is also appearing to use her experience as the former advertising head for NBCUniversal, a multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate corporation, as she told news outlets that she wants to meet media partners, talent agencies, and publishers to bring influential politicians, celebrities, and content creators to Twitter. 

With Twitter’s future tie-ups with these high-profile personalities, the social media platform can sell more advertising better, as well as administer sponsorship and branding deals between advertisers and creators. 

And that’s not all. Yaccarino is also reportedly in discussions for a more extensive partnership with Google, which will likewise encompass advertising and access to some of the platform’s data. 

She also hopes to renegotiate various contracts with technology companies such as Amazon, IBM, and Salesforce. 

Win back advertisers’ trust

Apparently, Yaccarino has been mulling this over for quite some time. During her meeting with Twitter’s global sales team earlier this month, the new CEO told the staff that the company would have to work harder to win back the advertisers’ trust. 

Notably, the CEO said the company would have to deploy “hand-to-hand combat” or urge the world’s biggest brands in-person rather than from behind their desks to advertise with the platform once more.

Musk announced the appointment of Yaccarino as the new Twitter CEO last month. Yaccarino is an experienced business executive known for her remarkable contributions to the media world. 

She was the former chair of advertising sales for NBCUniversal. She is also the executive chair of the World Economic Forum.

Cisco acquires SamKnows

Founded in 2008, SamKnows has been working together with government institutions, consumers, Internet service providers, manufacturers, and academics, among many others, to measure fixed and mobile broadband with the goal of helping enhance global Internet performance. 

“With the addition of SamKnows’ millions of vantage points into the last mile, customers now have a single source of truth for how the Internet is performing across their entire infrastructure, including home and mobile device networks,” Cisco said in its official statement. “Whether for hybrid work or consumer application delivery, optimizing and improving internet performance for everyone is just a click away.”

SamKnows’ technology is slated to get integrated with ThousandEyes, a network intelligence company Cisco bought in 2020. ThousandEyes produces software capable of analyzing the performance of local and wide area networks. 

“I am very excited to announce that SamKnows will be joining Cisco, the world leader in networking. Specifically, we will be joining the Cisco ThousandEyes team, which empowers leading organizations worldwide to see, understand, and improve connected experiences everywhere,” said SamKnows chief executive officer Alex Salter in the company’s news release.

More efforts to strengthen network assurance

This is not the only effort Cisco has made to bolster network and Internet monitoring capabilities. Last week, Cisco also announced its acquisition of Accedian, a Canada-based company that develops network communication and application monitoring hardware and software. 

“Accedian was born in the heart of the world’s largest and most complex networks,” Accedian’s CEO, Dion Joannou, said. “… We look forward to bringing our critical capabilities to a wider set of solutions within Cisco’s Networking portfolio and taking the next step in the partnership we have built with Cisco and our joint customers over the last years.”

SamKnows and Accedian are set to join forces with Cisco’s ThousandEyes team to help increase the amount of information Cisco has about monitoring and comprehending network health in a broader way. 

Mohit Lad, ThousandEyes’ CEO and co-founder, shared in the company’s official news release how SamKnows provides broad visibility and rich insight into the broadband networks of consumers, enabling network operators to see and enhance network performance and applications for their clients.

“Ensuring end-to-end connectivity from home environments is now essential for enterprises supporting remote employees, application providers reaching users, and broadband providers maintaining customer satisfaction,” Lad added.
