Revisiting The Best Fights In The ‘Naruto’ Series

0

Animes breathe through battles. While you can watch animes without so many action scenes, perhaps those romance or comedy genres, but when you think of the very concept of “anime,” the first thing that comes to mind is the presence of fights. In the phenomenal series of “Naruto,” which are the best fights? PVP Live revisits so you can pick your winner.

1. Naruto Vs. Pain

This fight is what appears in several promotional materials for “Naruto.” It’s Naruto taking on Pain. Pain is the purest of all evils. This alias for his real name, Nagato, is the figurehead leader of the Akatsuki. He wants to capture the tailed beasts sealed into various individuals in the shinobi world.

Every ninja in Konoha has faced Pain, trying to defeat him, but it is Naruto who takes on the challenge and succeeds, defeating the monster with a combination of Sage Mode, Rasengan, and Shadow Clones.

But here’s what’s interesting. Instead of completely crushing and eradicating Pain, Naruto chose to work on his good heart, empathizing with him. In return, Pain revived everybody in Konoha who suffered because of his attacks.

2. Madara Vs. Guy

But there’s actually an even more evil villain in “Naruto,” and that’s Madara Uchiha. After being hailed as the Jinchūriki of the Ten-Tailed Beast, he assumed the title of the most potent antagonist in the series. Yet, he won’t stand against Might Guy, who put his immense power to good use. Might Guy managed to sort and open all Eight Inner Gates, thereby unleashing their immeasurable powers.

The Gates provided Might Guy with massive speed, resilience, and strength, causing the Ten-Tailed Jinchūriki to be pushed to its limit. Uchiha then responded by countering the blows from Might Guy using Sunanoo, but it’s the final attack, the Night Guy, that almost ravaged the Ghost of the Uchiha, as Madara is called.

Just as Arnold Schwarzenegger uttered this line in “Terminator”: “Hasta la vista, baby,” Madara stated his iconic line: “I fought thousands of Shinobi, over the years, and none surpasses you in Taijutsu. I, Madara, hereby declare you are the strongest among all.”

3. Naruto Vs. Sasuke (Their Last Fight)

Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha engaged in several battles throughout the shows, but none of them was as pivotal as their very last encounter. After saving the world of shinobi from Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, the two traveled to the Valley of the End for an epic, intense, exhilarating, and iconic clash.

Both armed with everything and every experience they learned, they fought in the hopes of accomplishing their personal goals: Uchiha, who wanted to kill Uzumaki because he believed they never became friends, and Naruto, who wanted to take on this fight so he could save his opponent from his evil. Surprisingly and oddly, the battle ended with the two becoming friends again.

4. Rock Lee Vs. Gaara

The grand face-off between Rock Lee and Gaara happened across the Chūnin Selection Exams. If the “Harry Potter” series has the OWLs, “Naruto” has the Chūnin Exams. These tests are an opportunity for genin to be promoted to chūnin.

Thanks to the nearly impossible-to-topple defense and the ninjutsu the One-Tails granted to him, Gaara was initially declared the victor. Still, Rock Lee won’t agree, of course, so he displayed endurance and commitment unlike any other. However, his body gave up, and he lost consciousness.

5. Madara Vs. Hashirama

It’s kind of funny to see Madara in a second fight on this list. He isn’t a battle freak, is he? The use of the Forbidden Jutsu has caused the revival of several Akatsuki members, the Seven Swordsman of the Mist, Jinchūrikis, and most importantly, Madara. As a reaction, Orochimaru summoned the four Hokages: Hashirama Senju, Tobirama Senju, Hiruzen Sarutobi, and Minato Namikaze by unsealing them from the Triangle Seal.

Now, one of those Hokages, Hashirama Senju and Madara, found themselves facing off once again at the progression of the Fourth Ninja War. Significantly, this battle marked the peak utilization of their incredible strengths, with Madara unleashing several of his powers using Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan while the other used their Wood Release. It was an intense fight, but like how some football matches end up in a draw, this battle also ended indecisively. There was no official winner.

6. Obito Vs. Kakashi

Some battles in “Naruto” are pure action, while others have a tinge of emotions. Among the most emotionally charged fights in the franchise is the battle between Kakashi Hatake and Obito Uchiha. You see, members of the Uchiha clan are also war freaks, right?

After years of chasing the actual being behind Akatsuki, Uchiha finally revealed himself as their leader. Whoa. Frustrated over this, Hatake was forced to confront the former but found it difficult because he was his best friend.

Thus, it was an emotionally charged fight. The way it was choreographed involved flashback moments to one of their sparing sessions. Amazing to watch.

7. Sasuke Vs. Itachi

After years of intense training, Sasuke was finally able to track his brother Itachi, and as it was common during samurai-era Japan, one could just invite the other to a lethal match. This is also an emotionally intense fight and among the best in anime history. Be sure to watch or re-watch this fight because you won’t believe what happened in the end.

8. Madara Vs. Five Kage

Let’s name the most war-freak “Naruto” character now, shall we? It’s none other than Madara. It’s his third appearance on this list! Indeed, he is battling with five individuals, but surprise, surprise, this battle is touted one-sided toward Madara. His overwhelming reanimated power – Perfect Susanoo and Rinnegan – combined with Hashirama cells far exceeded the combined strengths of the Kages. It’s a battle that you’d want to revisit over and over again.

Which fight did you like the most? Or are you agreeing with what’s on this list? Be sure to share this story with your friends and family online!

Gamers Slam ‘Starfield’ Creation Club: ‘Too Expensive,’ They Say

0

Starfield” is unlike games such as “The Sims” when it comes to mods because, in the latter, you will have to purchase or download the mod from outside sources. But, Bethesda Game Studios, the developer behind “Starfield,” is making it easier for you to access the mods because you can find them in a one-stop store run by Bethesda themselves. Cue in, the Creation Club.

However, some fans feel frustrated about the Creation Club, saying the mods there are just too pricey. Here’s the scoop.

The Creation Club

Launched in 2023, “Starfield” is an action role-playing game wherein your character joins a group of space explorers who must embark on a quest to various corners of the galaxy to obtain mysterious artifacts. Its setting is an open world, taking inspiration from the Milky Way galaxy, which consists of both fictional and real-life planetary systems. In other words, it’s a game that will unleash your inner astronaut or astromer. Also, think of space exploration meeting with political drama. Inviting.

Previously, the game introduced the Creation Club to sell mods by the community. The developers had no intention but to introduce something new and fun for the gamers. However, business is business. But is that right? Instead of being a fun and optional feature, this Club has become a massive problem.

Many players find the prices of its content so expensive.

‘Unfair’ pricing

To express their frustration, some gamers took to Reddit to blurt out their grievances. A member there named Bluud687 said the pricing is “unfair” and is becoming harmful to the “Starfield” modders.

They added that there were no guarantees for long-term support for the mods, and there wasn’t even some sort of a free trial before buying. You can take a look at the official Creation Club site to see what they’re pointing out.

“It should all be free. Fan mods have neither a guarantee of support over the years, nor the possibility of trying them before purchasing. I’m not saying you should do it for free, but blocking them behind a paywall is absurd,” the netizen said.

Other “Starfield” gamers are sharing the same feelings. A user pointed out that the presence of paid mods in this game pushes creators to overprice their content. Like what?!

More gamers are voicing their anger on being somewhat “scammed.” They said they purchased some mods only to find out they provide limited value.

Mods are meant to enhance the gaming experience. They can improve the quality of the graphics, add new features, provide new weapons, and turn the gameplay into what you never experienced without them. But, some oligarchs in the gaming community are taking advantage of these cravings for better experiences for their personal gains.

What do you think? Are these “Starfield” mods giving justice to how much they cost? You can share this PVP Live story to let other gamers know.

Xbox Game Pass Ending October 2024 With A Bang

0

There’s been a lot of buzz about Xbox Game Pass this month. Games like “Open Roads,” “Sifu,” “South Park: The Fractured but Whole,” and “Mad Streets” graced collections. But are you ready for the big surprise? It seems that Xbox is ending October 2024 with a bang. Here’s the story.

‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’

This October 25th, the main event for the Xbox Game Pass is arriving. Xbox said it is their biggest day-one launch for Game Pass, which is accessible on PC, consoles, and the cloud.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” is set in the 90s, involving rogue operatives who are hunting down enemies up to no good. Not only those but this year’s Game Pass edition is set to introduce massive alterations to the franchise, such as the omnimovement system that essentially allows players to live out their very own personal action film. Apart from the 90s campaign, you’ll also get to enjoy the game’s multiplayer and Zombies modes.

On the same day, the Xbox Cloud Gaming will welcome “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III” and “Warzone.” You know “Modern Warfare III” as the game featuring Captain Price and Task Force 141 facing off against the evils of Vladimir Makarov. Meanwhile, “Warzone” is your free-to-play battle royale gameplay that’s already popular and becoming even more popular as it launches on the Xbox cloud.

But wait, there’s more

Among the last games on Game Pass before Halloween is “Ashen,” coming to you this October 29th. The game is returning here on every Game Pass accessibility, from the PC to the cloud. It is an open-world co-op action role-playing game where you get the chance to explore a magical world and encounter other players.

But wait, there’s more! You can play “Dead Island 2” on your PC on Halloween. Spooky. Here, you explore a cruel zombie apocalypse unfolding in Los Angeles. Cheeky, but enough to unleash the thrill.

Stick around

Then, on November 5th, you can get your first dibs on Game Pass’ “StarCraft Remastered,” which is Blizzard Entertainment’s take on the classic sci-fi real-time strategy game, this time with enhanced graphics and audio without veering away from its original gameplay.

On that same day, you also get to play “StarCraft II: Campaign Collection,” which, as the name says, includes every mission from “Legacy of the Void,” “Wings of Liberty,” “Heart of the Swarm,” and “Nova Covert Ops.”

What’s In Store For You After Completing ‘Pokémon Scarlet And Violet’?

0

The distinction between a DC or Marvel movie, and a game like “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet” is that the highlight isn’t a post-credits scene. Unlike in those movies, you won’t wait eagerly for a post-credits clip in “Scarlet and Violet,” but what you can do after you’ve finished the main story.

It’s what’s great about games, right? Actually, some gamers find it more thrilling to rediscover the game after they’ve accomplished everything from the main story. That said, what are the things you can do after the main story in “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet”? Be sure to read through this PVP Live piece.

Move Your Pokémons Via ‘Pokémon Home’

Got you, got you. This may not sound very appealing, but it’s the number one on several lists! Here, “Scarlet and Violet” is merging with Pokémon Home, so functionality has been added to your favorite role-playing game, provided they are compatible, of course.

However, buckle up because not every pocket monster out there can be transferred. Yet still, it builds a whole new realm for team building and Tera Raids, which will encourage you to play other games like “Pokémon Legends: Arceus” to collect them.

There’s More After Completing Your Pokédex

You should know there’s a whole new world as well after completing your Pokédex. For those itching to catch more Pokémons, there’s this ultimate Pokémon collecting challenge where you can strive to collect a living Pokédex this time. It means that in your box, you own every single Pokémon in the game with every form and gender different in between.

Plus, this also puts your collecting skills to the test. Indeed, there are more things to explore even after you’ve completed your Pokédex. Quite stunning.

Try Competitive Battling

Wait, you may ask, “Are the battles in the main story not competitive? They are, right?” Yes, they are, but here’s how this pointer works. After you’ve completed the main story and your Pokédex, it’s time to dip your hands into ranked battles and competitive Pokémons.

Here, leagues are more complicated than the usual single-player adventure and sometimes even more frustrating, yet the competitive side of this game is the best way to enjoy it with no limits. Skills to earn: team building and predictions. Just whoa.

Get The Rewards From Tera Raids

Tera Raids are battles in Paldea wherein you can find Pokémons with Tera Types distinct from their Normal forms. Those labeled with Tera are great for fighting, but this is not the only reward you can earn here.

In other words, the post-gameplay of “Scarlet and Violet” is the perfect opportunity to accomplish what you missed from the main story, such as preparing various creatures to tackle the Raids, challenging and capturing exclusive Pokémons, and much more. Blessing from heaven.

Make Every Sandwich Recipe

Sandwiches are a fave in “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.” Consuming them gives you the energy boost you need when exploring around. With Sandwiches, you’ll also increase your chances of finding certain pocket monsters, improve the experience your party earns, and summon more Shinies in your midst. There are over a hundred Sandwich recipes in the game, but you cannot access them without finishing the main story first. Go ahead.

Collect All Gimmighoul Coins

The game, of course, has to adopt several features from the franchise, such as the cute Gimmighoul coins, which you can collect around Paldea. Once you’ve collected all 999 coins, you can evolve your Gimmighoul into Gholdengo. To collect them, you may catch or beat Gimmighoul in the wild, look for roaming Gimmighoul that refuse to fight, get donations, and check sparkling spots around your world. It takes time to collect all, but you have a chance to, plus more when you’ve finished the main game.

Hunting Shinies Is Even Better

Shinies are sought-after Pokémons. For the uninformed, shiny Pokémons are rare and can do things that other monsters cannot. Thus, hunting and catching them also takes time. Hunting Shinies isn’t something you’d do for a considerable part of the main story, or you’ll miss other precious things. But, the post-game fun allows you to enjoy collecting Shinies as long as you want to.

Find, Then Catch The Treasures Of Ruin Quartet

Aside from Shinies, you’ll also want to get a hold of Legendaries in this game. They come in the form of the Ruin Quartet. They are four pocket monsters with fascinating stats and incredible signature abilities, so they’re worth your time.

Their names are Chien-Pao, Wo-Chien, Chi-Yu, and Ting-Lu. You’ll have to collect stakes to encounter them, which you can maximize further if you take this activity after completing the main game.

Take Part In The Academy Ace Tournament

PVP Live knows what you’re thinking. Yes, the Academy Ace Tournament is like the second-best, the backup, but it’s a fun experience nevertheless. Here, you must defeat four Trainers from all over the region. Since it is a tournament, they are chosen from a pool of 13. This tournament is a test of your strength against higher-level opponents. The teams’ content are decent and the levels, as well as stakes, are high enough to make it into a challenging adventure.

Rematch!

Did you lose the Gym Battles in the main story? Worry not, because you can take on rematches after you’ve succeeded in the main game. Once you do, you can return to the previously beaten Gym Leaders and offer them a rematch. So, that means a chance for you to win. It will also be easier because you’ll skip the tedious Gym puzzles and go straight to the fight. You’ll also have new Pokémons at higher levels at your disposal. It’s the beginning of a new era.

Those are just some of the various things you can do after you’ve completed the main story of “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.” If you want to find out what else is in store for you, know that you can complete every Academy Class, too, as well as return to Area Zero and catch the Legendary on the cover, and breed the perfect Pokémon. The perfect Pokémon. Why don’t you complete the main story and see for yourself?

‘Lord Of The Rings’: The Baddest Things Done By Aragorn

0

The “Lord of the Rings” franchise has transported its fans to worlds that were previously only in their dreams. This epic fantasy trilogy also has many interesting characters, both good and bad. As for the bad guys, you got the likes of Aragorn.

Aragorn is a central character in J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings.” He is a Strider, a Ranger of the North. He is also Isildur’s heir and thus destined to be the King of Arnor and Gondor. He assists in the quest to put an end to One Ring once and for all, alongside Gandalf and the Fellowship.

Furthermore, he also tracks the hobbits Pippin and Merry, engages in battles such as Pelennor Fields and Helm’s Deep, as well as leads armies versus Mordor. His actions have distracted Sauron, one of the primary antagonists, allowing Frodo to destroy the ring. Thus, Aragorn is crowned King, marries the elf Arwen, and rules for 122 years.

But, just as people are not perfect, they commit mistakes, Aragorn has also done several bad things in his life. Some of them are:

Aragorn Made Frodo Baggins Wait To Go Home

Don’t you just feel irritated if somebody you’re expecting to be with in a mall, for instance, tells you they’ll be there at this time, says they’ll be delayed for 15 minutes, only to hear that you must wait longer? Well, Aragorn made Baggins wait incredibly long to go home.

In the story, at the revelry of King Elessar’s wedding and coronation (Elessar is the name of Aragorn as the new king), Baggins requested that he be allowed to go home. He agreed, but with a condition: that Baggins had to wait until the revelries were done, as well as the hangover, so the king could ride along with him. Selfish, right?

He Misled Noblewoman Éowyn

Aragorn also misled noblewoman Éowyn, but dragging her to hope and admiration, almost a romantic feeling. The noblewoman, feeling trapped in her seemingly unending role as a shieldmaiden and yearning for glory, saw Aragorn as her hero so she could escape her tough life.

But, though the guy valued her bravery and respected her, his heart was for Arwen. Therefore, hurting Éowyn. A two-timer, huh? However, the story made clear that what he did to Éowyn was unintentional.

He Left Arwen!

A beautiful couple, but you wouldn’t believe that Aragorn left Arwen in the end. He committed himself to the lady after learning about his bright future, yet only a few days later, he departed into the wilds and was gone for decades, leaving Arwen alone.

So, you decide. Is Aragorn somebody to respect or not? But nonetheless, that’s the beauty of “The Lord of the Rings” literature and film series. Getting characters who are all angelic without a tinge of evil makes the story boring. If you liked this PVP Live post, be sure to share it with your friends and family!

Rotten To The Core: The Most Vicious Anime Villains Of All Time

0

They’re traitors, they’re conspirators, they’re beasts, they’re monsters, they’re devils – these villains in anime are known for making the lives of the protagonists difficult. Are you wondering who are the most ferocious anime villains of all time? Here’s a list.

1. Johan Liebert, The Quintessential Sociopath From ‘Monster’

You can find villains of all types in anime, but nothing compares to Johan Liebert from “Monster.” This quintessential sociopath looks so innocent at first glance, but his motives are evil. He is a product of a top-secret eugenics program designed to produce a superior human being. Also, perhaps one of the things that led him to live a life of evil is the trauma he encountered with his sister.

Despite his charm and personality, which are similar to those of leading men in romance animes, Liebert is a ruthless sociopath who thrives on manipulating other people. He likes to exploit the neuroses of psychopaths, persuading them to perform violent acts for him. However, unlike other villains in animes and fairy tales, Liebert has no supernatural powers besides his intelligence.

2. Meruem, The Evolutionary Apex Predator From ‘Hunter X Hunter’

Meruem, the Chimera Ant King of “Hunter x Hunter,” is also downright cruel and ruthless. Despite taking the form of an ant, he considers himself superior to other life forms.

He has been extremely powerful and smart since his mother-ant conceived him. In fact, he is touted as the strongest character in the anime series. It’s hard for the heroes to deflect his attacks.

However, the writers of “Hunter x Hunter” took a re-route when they let Meruem fall in love with a human being named Komugi. Their relationship and connection made Meruem question the essence of the true power of the group where he came from, the Chimera Ants.

3. Griffith, The Fallen Angel From ‘Berserk’

Meanwhile, this villain in the dark and epic fantasy anime “Berserk” is a charismatic and masterful tactician who embodies the most genuine forms of ambition and manipulation. His background is that he is just a commoner but endowed with supernatural beauty. He is the leader of the Band of the Hawk to their greatness, earning the favor and trust of the nobility and the king’s daughter.

But, like European courts of the past, his motive is to usurp the throne and reshape the kingdom in his own interests, a goal heavily influenced by a centuries-old plan from the God Hand or beings who groom him.

Griffith would applaud and cherish his comrades, but behind their backs, they treated them only as tools for his ambitions. In the Eclipse, his betrayal culminates, and he sacrifices his followers for power. Yikes.

4. Sōsuke Aizen, The Deceptive Mastermind From ‘Bleach’

Sometimes, it’s their ambitions that make people evil, such as Sōsuke Aizen of “Bleach.” He ultimately wants to bypass death by overtaking soul reapers and hollows, eventually turning him into a god. He is hungry for power. Initially a captain, he abandoned the Soul Society to chase his goals.

Like other villains here, he is incredibly brilliant. He masterfully and cunningly manipulates events from behind their scenes, setting chaos in the world of “Bleach.”

Holding a combination of immense power, strength, intelligence, and a touch of mystique, it did not take so long before he established himself as one of the greatest villains in anime.

5. Gendo Ikari, The Manipulative Patriarch From ‘Neon Genesis Evangelion’

Don’t mess with him. He is the type of person who would play the victim if criticized and shamed. In the story of “Neon Genesis Evangelion,” he orchestrated the premature apocalypse. This even caused near extinction, wiping out about two-thirds of humanity and awakening the “Angels,” who, ironically, were tasked with eliminating the survivors.

He’s evil for others, he’s evil for his family. He neglected his son for over a decade and used him as a pawn for his aim of evolving humanity and reuniting with his wife who passed away. He’s also evil for his wife, sadly. He created clones of her DNA, turning them into emotionally dependent beings.

6. Madara Uchiha, The Vengeful Visionary From ‘Naruto’

On the other hand, Madara Uchiha is a wolf wearing sheep’s clothing. He wants an epoch of peace for Konoha, but he uses wicked plans to achieve this, making him a despised villain in anime.

Uchiha is also a great mastermind. He orchestrates grand schemes spanning generations in the world of “Naruto.” Using his intelligence and power, he started the Fourth Shinobi War, in which five countries worked their way to defeat its perpetrator. He is a big threat to Naruto and his allies both physically and intellectually, creating insurmountable conflict.

7. Shou Tucker, The Twisted Alchemist From ‘Fullmetal Alchemist’

Shou Tucker looks like a cheerful, innocent grandfather, but don’t let his looks fool you. He is infamous for his horrifying acts. Initially appearing as a friendly and geeky alchemist who lives with Nina, his daughter, Tucker hides a deep desperation.

Before, he gained his State Alchemist License for the talking chimera he invented, but since he lost his wife, he took charge of being Nina’s guardian. Later on, he faced pressure from his superior to lose his license, so he replicated his past atrocities by merging his daughter with their dog. In other words, he used her for his experiments! Whoa. What’s worse, he defended his actions, saying it is necessary for scientific progress saying that “advancements have a price.” That’s vicious, no doubt.

8. Muzan Kibutsuji, The Immortal Tyrant From ‘Demon Slayer’

Muzan Kibutsuji, the Demon King, is the origin of all demons in the series. His heartless pursuit of his ulterior motive to be immortal has pushed him to create several demons to help him achieve his goals. His manipulation and sly intelligence are hated.

Moreover, he is also highly narcissistic. He wants perfection. Even in the face of death, he remains remorseless about killing humans for over a thousand years. He deserves to perish.

Seek And You Shall Find The Best JRPGs On The Nintendo Switch

0

Nintendo has always been generous in providing its players with the best experiences that are unlike what they had yesterday. With the launch of Nintendo Switch, you are able to enjoy three modes in one – TV mode, tabletop mode, and handheld mode – you can choose your control style, and share the fun with your friends. Nintendo took things to the next level.

At the same time, its revolutionary console also offers gaming genres, such as JRPGs or Japanese role-playing games, for you to explore. Playing these games on Nintendo Switch will make your JRPG playthrough quite memorable. Here are the best JRPGs on the Nintendo Switch today.

‘Persona 5 Royal’

Taking place in Tokyo today, the story of “Persona 5 Royal” revolves around a high school student with the codename Joker. Now, he moves to a new school after getting falsely accused of assault and placed on probation. Through his school year, he and his schoolmates wake up one day, discovering they are already a part of a group of secret vigilantes known as the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. Together, they navigate the Metaverse, unlike other metaverses you know of. In this game, it is a supernatural realm born from the subconscious desires of humanity. It is a metaverse but has life on its own in such a way that it wants to steal evil intent from the hearts of adults and change them.

The group battles enemies known as Shadows using Personas or physical manifestations of their psyche. It’s a JRPG that will take you across dungeons and social simulation scenarios.

‘Xenoblade Chronicles 3’

Relatively, “Xenoblade Chronicles 3” is the best JRPG on Switch. “Persona 5 Royal” is indeed a masterpiece, incomparable at that, not to mention their availability on other platforms. But what makes “Xenoblade” genuinely unique is that it is playable only on the Nintendo Switch. Is it a drawback? No.

This game franchise has been the ultimate source of greatness, making it a masterpiece on its own. Unlike other entries, this game checks all the right curves, such as the ambitious world-building, likable characters, and deep combat system that isn’t difficult to understand. This JRPG is paramount that you are missing a lot if you don’t try it.

‘Unicorn Overlord’

This isn’t just any other type of JRPG, but a tactical JRPG. Its creators’ aim is to make a game inspired by the classic tactical games of the 90s. Set on the continent the game calls Fevrith, a place consumed and torn by war, the story follows exiled prince Alain as he gathers his allies to liberate Fevrith’s nations from the Zenoiran Empire. The gameplay of “Unicorn Overlord” follows its hero and his units of armies fighting in large-scale battles. Take note that these battles and the field movements happen in real-time. That’s impressive.

‘Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes Of An Elusive Age’

Being among the greatest JRPGs of the previous decade, “Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age” has everything that makes this genre good for playing. Its vibrant cast members are lovely on their own, as you will see and realize they have their own struggles. There are unexpected twists and turns that conquer expectations. Not only those, but the music is immaculate.

Overall, the gameplay of this magic is as perfect as JRPGs can get. Moreover, you’ll also be able to play a demo on Nintendo Switch, making it worth trying without regretting it in the end.

‘Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door’

Fans of Super Mario, it’s time to wake up. There’s a JRPG of the franchise, and that’s in the persona of “Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.” Here, Mario and Princess Peach get obsessed with searching for a mysterious treasure that carries excellent fortune, but the X-Nauts alien group kidnapped the princess. So, Mario is now responsible for finding the treasure and saving the princess of his life.

“Paper Mario” on Nintendo Switch borrows several gameplay elements from its predecessor, which include a drawing-based art style and a turn-based battle system highlighting correctly-timed moves. For the most part, you play as Mario, but you may also play as Princess Peach and Bowser, the villain, but not at all times throughout the game.

‘Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance’

On this story’s cover image, ‘Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance’ will have you exploring Tokyo and the Netherworld, not the Netherlands while fighting demons of all shapes and sizes. The game looks great on Nintendo Switch, especially with the designs of the demons and the rest of the characters. It’s a game to look forward to.

With the launch of this game, the vanilla version of the series became stale. The new game is filled with what’s in the original campaign, alongside a secondary storyline known as the Canon of Vengeance. It beefs up the content and even adds new demons to enjoy fighting. You can try this game on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 4.

‘Persona 4 Golden’

Now, here’s another “Persona” game on this list, and it deserves this spot every step of the way. Several gamers like tinkering with it. You’ll play the protagonist who just moved to his new town, attended high school, and so much more. With a mature and creepy storyline is a soundtrack that’s nothing but banger after banger. Perfect fit. You’ll never regret having this game.

‘Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age’

Of course, a “Final Fantasy” game. The gripping story of the Sky Pirate Balthier and Princess Ashe is so classic the developers never thought twice about letting it go. So, it is part of this game.

However, they made alterations, such as the new job system and adding various building characters. The legacy of “Final Fantasy” never fades with “The Zodiac Age.”

So much things to love about this game. Let’s name a few – its open world, seamless battle systems, a controllable camera, and a system that lets you control the characters’ AI in battle. You wouldn’t ask for more.

The world of JRPGs is just getting bigger and more intense day by day. The experience of playing these games is distinct from what you get in other game genres, so you’ll always start with something new. For that JRPG gameplay that can make you forget the stresses of life, try those games you read about above for your Nintendo Switch. Stick with PVP Live for more gaming insights.

Open World Games With The Biggest Maps: Can You Manage Them?

0

Even us here on PVP Live thinks open-world games are the best. Forget about completing quests, beating enemies, or engaging in boring talks with the other characters. The fun starts when you can freely roam around the world you are in, especially if the game has historical or futuristic themes.

However, even the most experienced gamer who can play a game in one sitting cannot manage the games you’re about to know on this list. Here, you will find out which open-world games have the most extensive maps that you’ll have to sleep through the night first to continue seeing what’s beautiful.

‘True Crime: Streets Of LA’

“True Crime: Streets of LA” is not the best game in terms of graphics, but its comprehensive map can compete with “GTA.” While moving around won’t be the best experience, considering the graphics quality, those who love exploring the streets of LA can appreciate the game’s map.

It tells the story of an uncompromising LAPD detective, Nicholas Kang. Now, he is recruited into the Elite Operations Division to launch an investigation into a series of bombings in Chinatown. As he delves deeper into the case, he finds a shocking revelation – that the bombings may be connected to the disappearance of his father, a police officer, two decades ago. With this story, you wouldn’t mind the quality of its graphics, would you?

‘No Man’s Sky’

Real-world-inspired open worlds can be dull, so why don’t you try the futuristic setting of “No Man’s Sky.” You won’t crave “Star Wars” soon. The map of “No Man’s Sky” can literally be infinite since no average game can take you to multiple galaxies like how this game does. Each galaxy here has several regions and star systems. Each star system has around one to six planets, a magnitude of moons, and a space station.

Some players say there are around 20 galaxies they have visited in their playthrough, but you wouldn’t believe what others would say: 100 galaxies! It takes persistence to keep playing “No Man’s Sky.”

‘Arma 3’

Now, this game is about a world that the military explores. It’s a realistic military simulator that its gamers take very seriously. The Altis Island, where it is set, provides various engaging tactical scenarios for squads to take part in, so the presence of such a massive map is expected. On the map, you can find built-up towns, jungles, marshlands, and about everything in between for your military simulation needs.

“Arma 3” is set in the mid-2030s, so imagine the synergy of military and futuristic themes. Places are inspired by the South Mediterranean Sea, South Pacific, Gibraltar, Eastern Europe, Western Sahara, mainland Southeast Asia, and Europe.

‘Skull And Bones’

Ubisoft discovered when they created “Assassin’s Creed IV” that when incorporating water where big ships sail in a game, it can take a massive village to make the game possible. But “Skull and Bones” proved this notion wrong, as it takes things to the next level to accommodate players who want to explore the waters and feel like they’re real captains, sailors, and pirates.

Well, pirates, mainly. The game highlights piracy and naval warfare with settings inspired by East Africa and Southeast Asia during the 1800s, the peak of the historic Golden Age of Piracy. It’s not futuristic, not Wild West-inspired, but historic beyond America.

‘Minecraft’

Yes, “Minecraft” belongs to this list. You need to explore 1.5 billion square miles of the game’s map for you to say that you’ve seen it all. This explains why gamers keep playing this, telling their moms to wait for them at the dinner table.

Furthermore, the endless stretch of the game’s map shames the realistic Microsoft Flight Simulator, making the Earth appear like the size of a pea by existing about eight times larger. By the way, “Minecraft” also owns the largest open-world game map not set in space. That takes so much creativity. See it to believe it.

‘Xenoblade Chronicles X’

PVP Live got you. 2022’s “Xenoblade Chronicles 3” isn’t really that big. It’s the Wii U-exclusive “Xenoblade Chronicles X” game that has the spot. Maybe it’s Wii’s way of attracting buyers of the console, considering that many prefer Xbox and PlayStation nowadays. You will explore the world of Mira with the in-game giant mechs by your side.

The story of this game is unique as you’ll play with a surviving human ship that escaped a battle with aliens that destroyed Earth. You will find yourself joining the BLADE unit to defend the human survivors and uncover Mira’s untold secrets.

‘Just Cause 4’

You have “Just Dance,” then you have “Just Cause.” It’s easy to find yourself around “Just Cause 4,” one of the games in the series. The goal is to destroy everything in sight, so if you carry a destructive personality, you’ll love this game. Considering this endgame, you need a vast world to explore. Thus, this game’s map is also massive. See fuel tanks, electrical plants, and other infrastructure brimming with flammable materials you need to pound to ashes.

Here, you take on the role of Rico Rodríguez, who sets foot in Solís nation to find that he has to take down The Black Hand, the world’s largest private military. Interestingly too, this game uses the new version of the “Apex” game engine. We know you want to try this now.

‘Microsoft Flight Simulator’

Will you even need an explanation? Being a game that allows you to reach your pilot dreams, “Microsoft Flight Simulator” won’t be able to drive home the point if it can’t offer a vast map, and it does. This game has two million towns and cities, 1.5 billion buildings, two trillion trees, and 37,000 real-world airports. The game’s developers wanted a flight simulator, so they’ve got to provide what’s needed.

“Microsoft Flight Simulator” can be played not just on contemporary Xbox consoles but also on vintage gaming systems, such as MS-DOS and PC-98, among others. But you’ll, for sure, play it on your Xbox or PC today.

Talking about the best open-world games with the largest maps, each has its own personality. It can be hard to pick what you want to play at the moment. From open-worlds that will take you back in time to open-worlds that will bring you to settings that haven’t yet existed, these game maps will make you keep gaming without feeling uneasy.

Knowledge Is Power: The Most Intelligent Characters In ‘Skyrim’ – Get Up Close And Personal

0

When getting immersed in role-playing video games like “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim,” you’ll often select or interact with characters who are strong, powerful, and uncompromising in battles. After all, brawns can make you win. But some “Skyrim” games would like to think otherwise. They believe that winning is about choosing who’s the smartest. Let’s get you up close and personal with the geeks of the Skyrim universe.

It’s A Tie Between A Dragon And A Mage

“Skyrim” gaming experts are torn between two characters in the category of who’s the most intelligent. Some say it’s Paarthurnax the Dragon, and others say Sotha the Mage. PVP Live weighs things down.

Sotha

Dressed like a Greek god but with the name of a Hindu god, Sotha is a skilled mage, the byproduct of an entire city. This Dunmer god isn’t just powerful but also intelligent across “Elder Scrolls” lore.

Basically, Sotha created the Clockwork City to make Tamriel as “perfect” as possible, better than the vision Aedra spirits had in mind. That’s not for everybody to think of, making Sotha a contender for the top spot of the most intelligent character in “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.”

Paarthurnax

Don’t jolt if you find out that the other number-one spot is being shared by the ferocious Paarthurnax, the dragon who guided the Dragonborn to save Skyrim. First, a bit of a background. Dragons like Paarthurnax are a constant in the world and are not born.

However, even if it served as a guide for the Dragonborn in saving Skyrim, it also betrayed Alduin, the dragon that ruled over Skyrim during the Merethic Era, for Paarthurnax’s personal reasons. That makes him intelligent in a cunning way.

Other Smart Characters In ‘The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’

This time, take a look at the honorable mentions.

Tiber Septim

Like Sotha, Tiber Septim also dons the outfit of a god, but its name matches its Roman god aura. He was among the first Dragonborns, powerful first, since the Empire’s first Emperor was named after him, then united the entire continent.

This divine character did not reach the top of the list because he lacked scholarly knowledge. Instead, what makes him smart is his way of using military tactics and general wit to outsmart his enemies with the goal of uniting Tamriel as one. He is worshipped as a god because of his impact on “Skyrim’s” world.

Psijic Monk

First things first, the Psijic is a “Skyrim” order shrouded in mystery. Their existence is being questioned today, but they remain a highly ancient category of magical specialists. This order lives on Artaeum island, taken from famous folk legends of islands disappearing and reappearing occasionally.

But the story further is also interesting. It is believed that the Psijic order has something to do with this habit of the island. Moreover, they are highly coveted by the government, just like they are for intelligent people in the real world.

Vivec

If “Skyrim” were an experimental play primarily, Vivec is the main character. He is intelligent not against his in-game opponents but against you, the player. He thinks ahead and knows you will quickly save until you kill him finally, so he doesn’t raise a single finger to retaliate because he’s all the while informed.

He knows of your power because he has attained CHIM or the capability to comprehend existence, and not just to understand every aspect of it, but to manipulate it as well, just like a lucid dream. This immortal god has used his wit to save the Dunmer people, making him the ultimate fan-favorite.

Septimus Signus

Next in line is Septimus Signus. Looking at him, he will remind you of a “Star Wars” character. Hooded, with the beard, you get the picture. Now, he debunked popular belief that anybody who gets to read the Elder Scrolls would be driven mad. In fact, he used it to his advantage by understanding closely where the scrolls came from and how they worked. Somehow, these were the sources of his intelligence.

Hermaeus Mora

This character is intelligent but uses his skill for evil. Several characters despise his actions, but it’s his calculated actions that do things so meticulously that make him powerful as well. In fact, the significance and reach of this character have made “Skyrim’s” developers base the entire Dragonborn DLC around him, who tries to spread his influence on Solsthein by brainwashing characters. Plus, he has this Daedric artifact that holds vital information that can drive nearly everybody mad.

Vyrthur And Gelebor

Now, you’ve got a duo of Snow Elves here, Vyrthur and Gelebor, the last remaining of the group after the Dwemer enslaved the rest and trapped them underground. Their intelligence is because of the hardships they experienced. As they say, they charge things to experience. Don’t you become more intelligent if you learn from your mistakes?

M’aiq the Lair

He’s intelligent because he’s a know-it-all. M’aiq the Lair knows every change made between every Elder Scrolls installment and even comments on them like you would on Facebook. For him, he is the best being across Tamriel. Somewhat narcissistic, but let’s allow him.

Because of his obsession with always commenting on the changes in the Elder Scrolls, he also breaks the fourth wall. Not every character can do it, so it’s good to have him by your side.

Wrapping Up

That ends the list of nine of the most intelligent characters in “The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim,” with others not in “Skyrim” per se, but their legacy is felt throughout “Skyrim” and the rest of the game series.

Let’s quiz you right here. What do you notice? You’re correct. No female on the list, especially since these are the top nine. It seems “Skyrim” still needs to work more on being unbiased toward women in terms of intelligence.
