Employees are organizing a walkout in the newest episode of the story developing around Activision Blizzard over the last week, demanding a more proactive reaction from management, who first disputed the claims.
This walkout is in reaction to a lawsuit filed by the state of California against Activision Blizzard for sexual harassment and wage discrepancy against its female employees, as well as the company’s higher-ups’ contentious comments.
Activision Blizzard has been silent on the claims since issuing a press release shortly after the case was filed, denying that the allegations in the complaint were in any way representative of the firm.
Following a two-year investigation into very troubling behavior within Activision Blizzard, California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) filed the complaint in question. The lawsuit claimed that the company fostered a “frat boy” culture in which female employees were sexually harassed on a regular basis, denied promotions and equal pay to their male counterparts, forced to pick up the slack for male coworkers who would drink and play video games on the clock, and further marginalized and disparaged based on their gender.
The official reaction from Activision Blizzard flatly disputed the claims, calling them “distorted” or “false,” a view mirrored in internal business emails by J. Allen Brack, the current president of Blizzard, and Fran Townsend, executive vice president for corporate affairs. Activision Blizzard workers, on the other hand, are unsatisfied with the answers.
An open letter supporting the case was signed by over a thousand Activision Blizzard employees. Employees at Activision Blizzard, according to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, will strike outside the company’s Irvine headquarters tomorrow, July 28, to demand, among other things, a third-party audit of the company’s leadership, the removal of mandatory arbitration clauses, the publication of salary and promotion rates for employees, and facilitating more diversity through improved hiring, promoting, and rehiring.

Gardevoir, a new Pokémon that will join Pokémon Unite’s roster tomorrow, July 28, will soon be fighting in bouts on Aeos Island. This will be the first new Pokémon to appear in the game since Zeraora, which was a free download during the game’s debut period but will no longer be accessible after August 31, 2021.
In Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, the Gardevoir line was debuted as Psychic-type Pokémon, then in Pokémon X and Y, it was renamed Fairy-type Pokémon. Some trainers acknowledged cheating before the bans but said they were targeted by excessive or premature bans (Niantic has a three-strike anti-cheat policy in place for Pokémon GO). Others said they hadn’t cheated at all but were nonetheless hit with strikes, with some losing access to their accounts for no apparent reason. The problem has reportedly gotten so widespread that Niantic has taken formal action to remedy it.
Niantic Support for Pokémon GO wrote on Twitter that the staff is “working on restoring strikes for certain Trainers who earned penalties on their accounts mistakenly.” Niantic is working to undo the erroneous bans and strikes that have locked users out of their Pokémon GO accounts without reason, some momentarily and others permanently.
“This will be done for Trainers automatically, whether or not they have contacted us,” the development team informed players. Niantic has apologized for the Pokémon GO mistake, but there has been no word on potential compensation for people affected by unjust strikes (or the player base as a whole).

Over five years have passed since the release of Pokémon GO. Many players have been collecting Pokémon since the game’s inception, making both temporary and permanent bans highly inconvenient. Though cheating is a common occurrence in the game – Niantic said in February that it would punish or ban 5 million users across Pokémon GO and its other games by 2020 – premature or unfair bans are major issues that may spoil the experience for those who are affected.

The second Monster Hunter Rise collaboration has been revealed, and it’s a crossover with Okami. As part of the free DLC, the player’s faithful Palamute will be able to dress up as Amaterasu from Okami.
Okami was a Japanese mythology-based action-adventure game in which the protagonist was a canine counterpart of Amaterasu, the sun deity. It was first published for the PlayStation 2 in 2006, however, an improved HD port was later released for most current systems.
Because Amaterasu is a dog, she doesn’t feature in as many Capcom crossovers as someone like Ryu from Street Fighter. However, she has appeared in the Marvel vs. Capcom series as a playable fighter.
Monster Hunter Rise’s first cooperation was with Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin and both games received crossover content. A trailer for the second Capcom cooperation has been released on the Monster Hunter YouTube account.
Players will be able to obtain a set of Palamute layered armor modeled by Amaterasu in the upcoming cooperation. Complete an Event Quest, which will be introduced to the game on July 30, 2021, to acquire the armor.
Monster Hunter is no stranger to crossovers, with the 3DS generation introducing a slew of Nintendo-themed costumes and weaponry. Because the Palamutes originally appeared in Monster Hunter Rise, this is the first time the game’s designers have been permitted to include canine outfits.
The Monster Hunter Rise post-launch content roadmap was revealed at the conclusion of the Amaterasu video, and it confirmed that the next Capcom collaboration would be published in August, followed by two more in the Fall.
