Battlefield 1 In the Name of the Tsar’s Lupkow Pass to be Available on CTE Soon

DICE will upload one of Battlefield 1 In the Name of the Tsar’s maps, Lupkow Pass, onto the Community Test Environment soon. Once the developers iron out the remaining issues with Lupkow Pass, they’ll allow players to test out the expansion-exclusive map. “The goal is to have it out on the CTE later this week,” DICE’s Indigowd stated on Reddit. “We just need to sort out a few quirks first.”

While you can’t get your hands on the new map just yet, Lupkow Pass was already showcased at EA Play during the week of E3. You can check out the map’s layout and how the game generally progresses in the video below:

Although the new map is part of In the Name of the Tsar, we won’t see each of the new weapons available in the expansion. The early E3 build had seven of the 11 new guns, but DICE will most likely hold off on detailing the remaining four.

Other than the weapons and Lupkow Pass, Battlefield 1’s next expansion will introduce five other maps, more Operations, new vehicles, Supply Drop game mode, and Specializations – a new way to customize your playstyle. Specializations won’t increase your natural health or make your damage more potent, DICE shared, but you can augment your character in different ways.

At the moment, Battlefield 1’s Community Test Environment is only available on PC, but DICE has made efforts to establish test servers on the console. Last month the developers shared that the console version of the CTE is “so close now,” but we’ve yet to hear more since then.

For the most part, the content added onto the CTE won’t be changed heavily, if at all. In general, the test servers are simply for fine-tuning to ensure quality game experiences. That said, the test servers are the only way to experience any of the new DLCs or new content additions before they’re available on live servers. And come August, when Lupkow Pass rolls out onto live servers, the rest of the DLC content should be introduced on the CTE.
