Three new Monsties will be available in the upcoming free update for Monster Hunter Stories 2. The player assumes the position of a Rider in the Monster Hunter Stories series, who has the power to raise a Monster from birth and convert it into a loyal companion and party member.
The Rider, unlike the Hunters in the Monster Hunter series, wants to befriend monsters rather than kill them for their skins. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin offers the player access to a strong Rathalos, who is the focus of the main plot, but they still require the help of a gang of formidable Monsties. Powerful Monsties not only offer them additional battle choices, but they also function like HM mules in the Pokémon franchise, allowing the player to explore more of the terrain.
As part of free post-launch content upgrades, Monster Hunter Stories 2 has been progressively introducing new Monsties. Three new Monsties are coming as part of Update 3, which will be released on September 2, 2021, according to a teaser on Capcom’s official Monster Hunter YouTube channel.
The new Monsties are all distinctive, even if they don’t quite match Monster Hunter Rise’s Street Fighter crossover in terms of wow appeal. Soulseer Mitsune, who can devastate a party with a jet of water or crash into foes with a spinning body slam; Elderfrost Gammoth, who can crush enemies beneath the weight of its colossal body; and Oroshi Kirin, who can strike with holy lightning and impale enemies with its horn, are the three new creatures that will be available in Update 3. Monster Hunter Stories 2 will get four new quests in Update 3, followed by eight additional tasks on September 16 – including some new co-op objectives.
These aren’t the only new Monsties heading to Monster Hunter Stories 2, as the game’s DLC roadmap has revealed that Molten Tigrex and Monster Hunter icon Dreadking Rathalos, as well as a high-difficulty variant of Kulve Taroth, will be arriving in late September. In October, a new co-op-exclusive Monstie combat, as well as Monst Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian, will be released.
Monster Hunter Stories 2 is a tough game, but the player may make things easier by establishing a formidable Monsty squad, which is available in the post-launch DLC (so long as players are able to sneak into their lairs and steal their eggs).
