2024 has so far been an excellent year for the world of anime. We’ve seen the premiere of new seasons of your favorite animes – “Demon Slayer,” “My Hero Academia,” and “Blue Lock,” among others – as well as totally brand-new animes. But it doesn’t end there, of course.

Here is a rundown of the most exciting animes launching from June to December 2024.

‘Ultraman: Rising’ – June 2024

This June, reserve your tickets on the big screen as a new animated superhero film from the collaboration of Netflix Animation and Tsuburaya Productions is coming.

“Ultraman: Rising” tells about Ken Sato, a famous but egotistical baseball player who lives a secret life as a giant superhero named Ultraman. Like how it is for Spider-Man, he must balance his career and hero duties, especially since he reluctantly adopted a baby kaiju or giant monster (Godzilla is a kaiju) after defeating her mom.

‘Oshi No Ko’ Season 2 – July 2024

The story of “Oshi no Ko” follows a doctor and his patient who died recently, reborn as twins to a renowned Japanese pop sensation. They navigate the highs and lows of the country’s entertainment scene as they grow up together through their lives.

As a new season emerges, be prepared for more twists. However, no official details about the plot of this brand-new season are available yet, so gear up for surprises.

‘Tower Of God’ Season 2 – July 2024

“Tower of God,” the popular manhwa-turned-anime, is officially getting a sequel this July. The first season trended among fans who craved more as that season ended with a major cliffhanger. They expect that their unanswered questions will be addressed in Season 2.

The story of this anime is set in a dimension where a tower summons chosen beings called Regulars, promising to grant their deepest wishes and desires. However, only those who get to the top of the tower make their dreams come true.

‘Suicide Squad ISEKAI’- July 2024

The story of the Suicide Squad has finally teamed up with anime in “Suicide Squad ISEKAI.” True to its title, this series is based on DC Comics’ Suicide Squad. The show is presented by Warner Bros. Japan and produced by Wit Studio.

No other than the Suicide Squad – yes, Harley Quinn and her gang – ends up in a world filled with monsters and magic. Unless they find a way to go back to their original lives, their nano bombs will detonate in 72 hours.

‘My Hero Academia: You’re Next’ – August 2024

Fans of “My Hero Academia” in Japan, rejoice. A new movie, the fourth film in the franchise, “My Hero Academia,” will screen in Japanese cinemas this August 2nd.

This “My Hero Academia” on the big screen is said to carry the original story, but sadly, it won’t be the continuation of the manga. However, its plot will happen around the same time as where the anime version is now, particularly telling about the collapse of a safe society.

‘Kimi Ni Todoke’ Season 3 – August 2024

With the cliffhangers from the previous season, fans of “Kimi ni Todoke” know that there should be a next season. However, they had lost hope for this after more than a decade of hearing no news about the return of this Shojo classic.

But, lo and behold, Netflix recently confirmed that a sequel is happening, and the original cast will return.

“Kimi no Todoke” follows Sawako Kuronuma, an introvert and somebody feared by her schoolmates because of her jet-black hair. However, she slowly starts to come out of her shell, thanks to the help of Shouta Kazehaya and her new buddies.

‘Dragon Ball DAIMA’ – October 2024

In celebration of Dragon Ball’s 40th anniversary, the franchise shares a never-before-told story in which your favorite and iconic characters from this phenomenal anime will turn into babies and toddlers.

The story of “Dragon Ball DAIMA” (“daima” means “always in English) follows Goku and his buddies who have all been transformed into children. Kinda like “Detective Conan,” right?

Why it happened remains unknown. But they must work to undo this curse, and as they do, more mysteries about the Dragon Ball Universe will be unveiled.

‘Dandadan’ – October 2024

Now here’s an entirely brand-new anime that you must also look forward to. “Dandadan” follows Momo Ayase and her classmate Okarun, who share the same interests in the supernatural. Ayase believes in ghosts, while Okarun thinks aliens are real.

To prove themselves correct, they make a bet, which leads to a series of comic events. This anime, which promotes young love, also features chaotic events involving ghosts, aliens, monsters, and more.

‘Arcane’ Season 2 – November 2024

Netflix will be in charge of releasing the second season of “Arcane” this November. It has been reported that its creators will invest so much time to match the quality of its first season.

Following the dramatic cliffhanger ending of the first season, its story will likely revolve around the all-out war between the cities of Zaun and Piltover.

Here are more new animes without a specific release date yet but definitely showing within this year:
