We’re getting closer and closer to the release of the much-awaited iPhone 15 series, and more and more speculations about it are coming out, only adding to the excitement. And even before the launch of the iPhone 15 lineup, assumptions about the next iPhone 16 series are also circulating. Whoa.

But wait, there’s more. Did you know that leaks about the iPhone 17 lineup bound for release this 2025 are also beginning to circulate around? Yes.

iPhone 17

A respected display analyst, who is also the co-founder and CEO of end-to-end supply chain expertise provider Display Supply Chain Consultants, Ross Young, has revealed details about the iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 models. For iPhone 17, Apple’s 2025 plans for this lineup were shared.

Let’s start with the iPhone 16 units first. Young said that the iPhone 16 Pro models would feature a marginally taller 19.6:9 aspect ratio, compared with the current models’ 19.5:9 aspect ratio, thanks to the large sizes of their displays.

He also revealed details about the exact dimensions, saying that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max displays would measure 6.27 inches and 6.86 inches, respectively.

To compare, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, like the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, will measure 6.12 inches and 6.69 inches, respectively.

Now for the stuff you are curious about, the iPhone 17, slated for release this 2025. In a brave move to share this leak, Young said these larger display sizes would also be present in the iPhone 17 and 17 Plus models.

Furthermore, 2025 will also be the year the Cupertino-based tech giant will equip its standard models with a 120Hz ProMotion display and the power-efficient, variable refresh rate LTPO panels that will support them.

You can remember the company introducing ProMotion with its iPhone 13 Pro in 2021. Since high refresh rate displays are all the while being seen in competitors’ models, this is considered long overdue.

Finally, Young said that the iPhone 17 Pro units would be the first iPhones to support under-display Face ID technology. This would signal the end of the pill-shaped cutout in iPhone 14 Pro units.
