Nintendo Releasing Red and Blue Colored Switch

A new Nintendo Switch bundle featuring Mario’s trademark colors has been revealed, coinciding with a recently released trailer for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. Fans will soon be able to play the Browser’s Fury DLC expansion for the first time and do so in style on a blue and red edition inspired by the world’s most famous plumber.

Nintendo has given a diversity of exclusive Switch consoles with special paint jobs over the previous several years, 2020 saw the launch of two Switch exclusive editions, one to celebrate the launch of Animal Crossing New Horizons and another Fortnite inspired Switch that went global after originally being launched in New Zealand, Australia, and Europe. Usually, these exclusive consoles are launched along the side of a forthcoming Nintendo merchandise, and this Mario-adorned console is no exception.

On the same day as the revealing of Bowser’s Fury, Nintendo posted photos of a new blue and red Switch for the fans to drool over. The Joy-Cons and console are bright red, while the controller’s grip features the color of Mario’s overalls with the controller’s straps sporting the yellow of his buttons.

The bundle also comes with a Mario-inspired carrying case as well as a screen protector for the console. However, the bundle does not come with Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, which has to be purchased separately.

In the meantime, the new trailer video for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury released a few hours ago along with this new Switch finally shows what the expansion content will bring about for the franchise.

The trailer featured what seems to be a huge, open sandbox area akin to Super Mario Odyssey’s kingdoms, in which Bowser Jr. and Mario join forces to halt an uncontrollable and colossal Bowser. With new cat-like stars to gather and a new power-up that turns Mario into a massive lion, it appears like the ideal type of game to launch along with an exclusive new Switch.

With every new Switch coloration launched though, there is always the burning question of the existence of a Nintendo Switch Pro. It is very probable that this could be the year that will see its announcement, as speculations surrounding it are only getting stronger.

That comes in spite of the fact that Doug Bowser, President of Nintendo of America, recently shut down the aforementioned rumors. Whether or not the Switch Pro will come this year, it’s certain that these uniquely colored consoles won’t stop anytime soon.

Gamers will be able to buy both Super Mario 3D World + Bowser‘s Fury and the new Mario colored Nintendo Switch this February 12, 2021.
