Pokemon Go players are currently very occupied enjoying the countdown to Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto, but there are also several smaller events between now and then to keep them busy. The last week of January and the first week of February still have lots of surprises in store and Niantic just announced two new forthcoming events that will provide players some time-limited research to finish in a hurry for exclusive rewards.
Although the planned list of January 2021 Pokemon Go Research has been locked in for weeks, things are in for an overhaul in the final week of the month as both a new timed research and limited research events are coming in the game.
The Pokemon Go Sneasel Limited Research will only be held for just a day on January 30, while a new timed research will let players work things out for nearly two weeks through a new Team Go Rocket storyline with an exclusive reward.
Trainers, we’ve got some news that’s nothing to sneeze at!
A Limited Research event featuring Sneasel and new Team GO Rocket–themed Timed Research are coming soon! https://t.co/pXZFJsMmAn pic.twitter.com/lf8xZhjvRE— Pokémon GO (@PokemonGoApp) January 25, 2021
Of course, the Sneasel Limited Research event is going to be giving players a lot of Sneasel encounters but lucky players may also bump into the shiny form of the Pokemon. That should be enough to motivate players to log in and engage in the limited research when it arrives on January 30.
On the other hand, the new timed research has a more interesting reward at the end of the road. Players who manage to finish the timed research by February 7 will have the chance to encounter the Legendary Pokemon Ho-oh who knows the move Earthquake.
Sneasel Limited Research
“On Saturday, January 30, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time, you can complete event-exclusive Field Research tasks that lead to encounters with Sneasel. If you’re lucky, you might even encounter a Shiny Sneasel! You can also look forward to event-exclusive Timed Research.”
New Timed Research
“From Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, February 7, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time, you can complete a Team GO Rocket–themed Timed Research line that’ll lead to an encounter with a Ho-Oh that knows Earthquake. Good luck in completing this research challenge, Trainers!”
Both events have very interesting rewards and are possibly going to be very famous with the gaming community. Players should keep in mind that both events have a strict deadline associated with them, so players won’t want to waste their time. Players interested in the events should mark their calendars now and get ready for some action when they begin in just a few days.
