Rainbow Six Siege Introduces Its First Transgender Operator

The first transgender Operator has been added to Rainbow Six Siege. Content 3 and the Crystal Guard update for Rainbow Six Siege Year 6 include Osa, the game’s newest attacker. Anja “Osa” Jankovi is transgender, which was previously unknown but has recently been established.

The already released Flores and the recently revealed Operator Thunderbird are Osa’s co-Operators in Year 6. Osa has tactical robotic shields that she may employ for protection and deploy in windows and doors, which are beneficial to her and her teammates. Her bio indicates a “transition,” but GameSpot reached out to Ubisoft for clarification on what that meant.

According to her profile, Osa grew isolated as a result of other people’s reactions to her transition, which is not unusual for someone in her situation. When asked if this was actually alluding to Osa being transgender, Ubisoft verified it and said that the team went to considerable lengths as part of their inclusiveness drive.

Ubisoft worked with a group of trans consultants to create the game’s characters. Osa, according to the organization, should be genuine and genuine. As a result, Osa was written by a queer person and voiced by a trans woman, which should give Osa a more authentic feel.

Ubisoft’s development team has previously utilized the Operators to promote diversity and inclusiveness. Flores, for example, was revealed to be the first openly homosexual Operator in Rainbow Six Siege last year. These decisions to create a more inclusive roster were allegedly taken some time ago, so there might be more on the way.

Apex Legends, for example, has been a force for good from its inception, with highly diverse lineups spanning ethnic origins, genders, and more. Apex Legends began with a diverse cast of characters and continues to expand. It’s encouraging to see games like Rainbow Six Siege follow suit in this regard.

When it comes to seeing Osa in action, the Crystal Guard upgrade in Rainbow Six Siege will be live on test servers on August 17th. Osa looks to be a ruthless competitor, as well as an obsessive and passionate individual.

Her abilities on the field could change the game as well, so it will be very interesting to see how players use Osa in possible new upcoming Rainbow Six Siege game modes to mix up team strategies and more.
