Crossover events are nothing new in Rocket League. Popular brands such as Lamborghini have contributed replicas of their automobiles to Psyonix’s game since its introduction in 2015. The game’s creators recently revealed that a fresh wave of DLC would introduce items from the Ratchet and Clank franchise to the game.
In a post on the PlayStation Blog, the developers broke detailed the Rocket League crossover with Insomniac Games, the creators of Ratchet and Clank. The Ratchet and Clank Punk Decal for the Octane, Negatron Collider Boost, Clank Balloon Topper, and Ratchet Balloon Topper are all included in the DLC.
The opportunity to bring the series to Rocket League was a dream come true for Jeremy Dunham, Psyonix’s product and content strategy director. “Ratchet & Clank is one of PlayStation’s most iconic brands, and we’re great fans of it here at Psyonix,” he added.
While the new DLC will be available on August 18, fans of the Lombax and his metal companion will have until January 3, 2022, to get their hands on the in-game goods. These new goods are completely free, and all gamers need to do is check into Rocket League on a PS4 or PS5 to get them. The additional content is only available on Sony consoles, which is unfortunate for people who are playing the game on other platforms.
Along with this new DLC, Psyonix has announced a new Video Clarity setting for PS5 users, allowing them to see their new Ratchet and Clank gear in higher quality. Players can choose between two distinct settings in this setting: Quality and Performance.
Quality mode offers 60 frames per second at 4K resolution, as well as HDR support for compatible screens. The resolution is downscaled to 26881512, yet the game plays at 120 frames per second. This means PS5 owners may now play the game at higher frame rates, something Xbox Series X/S owners have been able to do for quite some time.
Understandably, the creators want to add Ratchet and Clank DLC to Rocket League. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart was just released on the PlayStation 5 by Insomniac Games. In this third-person shooter platform game, players take control of Ratchet and Rivet as they seek to overthrow Emperor Nefarious. The game has gone on to become one of the most popular on Sony’s next-generation platform. The addition of goods based on the series’ renowned characters adds to the excitement around both games.
Season 4 of Rocket League is now in progress. The creators have also included new 2v2 and Extra Mode Tournaments to the game, in addition to the Ratchet and Clank DLC. With the inclusion of a Desert arena and a new Rocket Pass that can be purchased, gamers appear to have enough to do in the game.
