Shiba Inu recently unveiled Shiba Inu Games, the latest arm of the project aimed at driving adoption in the game industry. Shiba Inu has been expanding its presence in various industries, with gaming being the most recent addition. It announced plans to release a multi-platform game in which holders will compete with one another.
To make this a reality, the project sought out a AAA game studio to assist in bringing this vision to life. The search has been difficult and fraught with disappointments, but the meme coin has found its ideal partner in PlaySide Studios.

Shiba Inu had previously revealed plans to build a seven-figure game, and Shiba Inu Games had been established as the arm to carry the flag on this mission. The team confirmed its partnership with Australian game studio PlaySide in a tweet. Shiba Inu claims to have entered into an eight-month milestone-based agreement with the developer to create its game.
PlaySide Studios is Australia’s largest publicly traded game developer, and it has collaborated with some of the industry’s biggest names, including Disney, Pixar, Warner Bros., and Nickelodeon. The partnership will result in the release of the first Shiba Inu game.
Both parties are pleased with the agreement because it allows each project to expand into a new industry. “PlaySide continues to demonstrate its ability to partner with leaders in a variety of fields within interactive entertainment, including leading influencers and global game brands,” said Gerry Sakkas, PlaySide CEO. “It’s very exciting for us to add a new games client that has emerged from the popular NFT, token, and decentralized cryptocurrency industries.”
PlaySide Studios has launched games on various platforms and will assist in the game’s distribution across multiple platforms. This includes mobile, desktop, and even the metaverse.
Shiba Inu revealed in November that core developers were already working on an “OshiVerse” and discussing the best way to launch it on Shibarium. Nonetheless, the metaverse project is in the works and will be available to the community.
Art from the popular ‘Shiboshi’ NFTs will be incorporated into the game, and Shiba Inu will release a feature card collection, strategy, and battle mechanics. The game’s release date has been set for the first quarter of 2023.
PlaySide sees this collaboration with Shiba Inu Games as an opportunity to demonstrate what they can do, stating:
“Emerging technologies continue to gather pace, and this is an ideal opportunity for PlaySide to collaborate in this field, expand our skill base and showcase our development abilities. The scale of the agreement with Shiba Inu Games is also significant and highlights the depth of our capabilities as we continue to grow our business.”
