Believe it or not, but Spider-Man: Miles Morales, along with the release of the highly-awaited PlayStation 5, will be made available to the public in less than a month. That being said, Insomniac Games hasn’t really revealed a lot as to what players can expect to find in the game.
Fortunately, the creative director of Spider-Man: Miles Morales has so kindly provided fans with new details regarding the game and what they can anticipate.
The original Spider-Man game was released in 2018 for the PlayStation 4, and it was one of the most highly-acclaimed games of that time. The web-slinging RPG title had dynamic combat along with a vast open world, so you can imagine that it had a lot going for it.
However, it wasn’t free from criticism or problems of its own. Despite being so well-received, it had some elements to it that really hindered the gameplay for some of the fans.
For example, one thing that some players didn’t like about 2018 Spider-Man is the addition of other playable characters aside from Spider-Man himself, like Mary Jane Watson and Miles Morales.
While some fans enjoyed this element because they found that the other characters added to the story and gameplay, others weren’t huge fans of it as it took away precious game time that they could have spent as the superhero.
That said, the latter type of fans will be happy to know that they won’t be experiencing this issue in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, as the title will not be featuring other playable characters.
This was confirmed by Miles Morales Creative Director Brian Horton, who said in an interview with Game Informer that Miles will be the only playable character in the game.
Although, Horton did say that there will be moments when Miles will take a break from being Spider-Man and will just interact with others like a regular teenager. However, this is akin to how in the Spider-Man game, players would sometimes take on the role of Peter Parker.
Other than that though, you will be playing as the web-slinging superhero for most of the game.
This new information provided to us by the creative director should give fans an idea about what to expect in Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Excited players have been anxious about the game’s length and how much of an impact it will have on the video game community compared to the original game.
Hopefully, the game will be even more impactful and immersive than the previous title, especially since players will be able to assume the role of the titular hero for the majority of the game.
That being said, we’re looking forward to seeing what else Insomniac Games has up its sleeve when it comes to Spider-Man: Miles Morales. As the name implies, Peter Parker obviously won’t play a huge role in this upcoming title, so we’re excited to experience and see how Miles’ story will progress from here.
Another thing we’re curious to see is how Insomniac Games will make use of Ganke Lee in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, especially since we know for sure he won’t be a playable character.
