According to developer Creative Assembly, Total War: Warhammer III has been postponed from its planned release date of late 2021 to perhaps early next year. In an action-packed cinematic video released in February, Creative Assembly and publisher Sega revealed Total War: Warhammer III. A complete gameplay reveal came a few months later, in mid-May, giving fans a better idea of what to expect from the all-new experience.
According to a tweet from the Total War Twitter account, the much-anticipated real-time tactics game will not be released in late 2021 as previously scheduled. Instead, Creative Assembly and Sega will release Warhammer III in early 2022 on an undetermined date, allowing the creators to “achieve more” in the long run. Despite the pressure, the studio plans to provide more information about Warhammer III in the near future. Fans may see a “global unveiling” for Grand Cathay, a new playable race, on September 14.
Total War: WARHAMMER III will now release in early 2022.
We know this is disappointing, but the extra time means we can accomplish more than we could if we rushed to release this year.
We won’t be staying quiet however, join us tomorrow for the global reveal of Grand Cathay… pic.twitter.com/R4GdObAs9P

The news of the postponement is, as usual, bittersweet. Fans will have to wait a little longer for the next adventure, but the extra production time can only help to improve the overall experience. Fortunately, the Grand Cathay unveiling tomorrow gives Total War fans something to look forward to in terms of new information.
