The era of next-generation consoles is coming in a few weeks and Sony is advertising the PlayStation 5 as hard as they could. Even this near to the release date, there are still new PlayStation 5 launch games being revealed recently.
Players are still hungry for new PlayStation 5 news, but what they have received has been a bit of a mixed bag. The processing prowess of the next-gen console is exemplary, and its digital edition looks like a clever idea, as gamers can pay cheaper if they plan to do digital shopping only. To help increase the excitement level even further, Sony collaborated with Travis Scott.
Travis Scott is a popular rapper who already has a few bestselling albums under his name. He has been tied to the video game industry many times before and in a significant way. His recent concert inside Fortnite set a new concurrent player record, and he also received a new skin in the game as well.
Sony collaborated with Travis Scott and his brand, Cactus Jack, to help make a new PlayStation 5 promotional clip. It’s short but pretty grandiloquent and features Travis Scott himself as the focal point.
The clip is in all black and white, and starts by featuring the PlayStation headquarters. Thereafter, the video focuses on a few creative heads behind Sony’s next-gen console. Each of the PlayStation 5 designers gets a close-up, including their roles shown in the lower-left corner of the screen.
A few of them have their shoes highlighted on in shots of Nike that looks to give Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s collaboration with Reebok a run for its money. Lastly, Travis Scott himself is seen booting up the PlayStation 5 in front of a huge surround sound system. With a huge smile on his face, he lets himself be blown away literally.
Viewers are now shown what particular game the rapper was playing, so anyone is free to guess. The transition from the faces of the designers to their sneakers is also a little peculiar since the video is not a Nike ad.
The best feature of the video is the sound system, although the brand wasn’t given. Also, since the clip is in black and white, no one can identify if the artist is booting up the $10k golden PlayStation 5 in the video however, it’s exciting to imagine that he is.
According to Sony, Travis Scott is the company’s new strategic creative partner. Whether or not this means the rapper will be creating more advertising material remains to be seen. If true, it is any fans guess what cool videos Travis Scott might release next.
Since there’s already a video showing a Sony head breaking apart a PlayStation 5, maybe he could make a video showing him assembling one together again. Anything is possible with Travis Scott’s imagination.
