Ubisoft has revealed that a Prince of Persia game is in the works which will be a remake of The Sands of Time installment. The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will be released on January 21, 2021, and will be playable on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
The game was officially revealed today during the Ubisoft Forward streaming event but not before multiple leaks spoiled the game’s comeback. This will be the first game remake from the developer, Ubisoft.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time’s most memorable feature is the ability to rewind time to undo fatal mistakes such as being killed by traps and enemies, falling from a building, and even freeze enemies and move obstacles. The game was first released In 2003 and was critically acclaimed. This game also served as an inspiration to the now popular Assassin’s Creed franchise.
According to the developers, this remake has been redeveloped from the ground up utilizing Assassin’s Creed Origins Engine which features improved mo-cap movement, revitalized combat gameplay, and a new in-game camera.
The remake will also feature the original voice actor for the protagonist, Yuri Lowenthal, and newcomer Supinder Wraich who plays the alluring Princess Farah. Similar to the 2003 release, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake will also include the classic Prince of Persia game which was originally released back in 1989.

The game is developed by Ubisoft Pune and is built using the same engine as Assassin’s Creed.
