PlayStation hosted a showcase earlier today, showcasing some of its most anticipated projects in the future years. Players received their first look at God of War Ragnarok, got a sneak peek at Peter Parker and Miles Morales’ next journey in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and learned about an official Wolverine game from Insomniac.
The news that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: Lost Legacy will be released as the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection for PC and PlayStation 5 was one of the highlights of the event. Sony unveiled a brand new video for the remastered PlayStation 4 games during the presentation, revealing that the package will be released in early 2022.

Sony hasn’t said much about what will be improved to match the hardware upgrade, with a post on the PlayStation Blog suggesting that more information would be revealed closer to launch. However, the footage displayed during the demo appears to indicate that both titles would include aesthetic upgrades and a significant increase in frame rate. According to the article, Iron Galaxy will handle the PC version, which will be the first time an Uncharted game has made its way to the platform.
Uncharted 4 features an elderly, retired Nathan Drake after the events of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, for those who haven’t played the first two games. Despite the globetrotting protagonist settling down, he is pushed into a new adventure when his brother appears to have returned from the grave and asks for his assistance. Players will explore the world, uncover ancient secrets, combat unscrupulous mercenary organizations, and see the last act of Drake’s narrative during the course of the game.
Meanwhile, Lost Legacy follows erstwhile side character Chloe Frazer and Uncharted 4 antagonist Nadine Ross after A Thief’s End events. The narrative follows the unexpected friends as they embark on a mission to India in pursuit of the Ganesh Tusk, facing a new menace in the process.
Unlike earlier Uncharted games, Lost Legacy’s campaign featured more open-ended gameplay, with players spending a considerable chunk of the game navigating a huge center packed with goals that could be completed in any sequence.
The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection joins a growing list of PlayStation exclusives that have lately made their way to PC, including Horizon: Zero Dawn, Death Stranding, and Day’s Gone. Given that both games were among the most popular PlayStation 4 exclusives, they’re guaranteed to attract a large new audience eager to dive into some cinematic Uncharted action.
