Xbox Making A Huge Announcement During The Game Awards 2020

This year has been so memorable for the video game industry, but before the year finally ends, there’s one final massive event in the industry. The Game Awards 2020 is pushing through as scheduled, though without a live audience, otherwise, it will hopefully remain the same.

The 10th of December will provide a wide array of awards for the best games of this year as well as various announcements and reveals. According to rumors, one of the announcements going to be made will be coming from the team of Xbox.

GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb recently revealed a few details during one of the streams of the outlet. According to the insider, Xbox will be making an announcement at this year’s The Game Awards, but that’s the only information Grubb was willing to disclose at that time.

His exact words were that he knows that Microsoft “has something coming to The Game Awards.” The context of the question posed to Grubb was associated with Microsoft’s recent procurement of the eSports bracket website Smash.gg and teases for future Game Pass reveals.

Aside from rejecting that the announcement is related to Smash.gg, Grubb didn’t give any clues at what the team at Xbox may be preparing for the show. All that’s confirmed is that Xbox will be formally joining the event and, if Grubb is telling the truth, they will make some kind of announcement. Xbox fans will have to watch The Game Awards 2020 to find out more. At the very least, if Grubb has learned about it before the awards show has aired, it will likely be a massive reveal.

Xbox has given separate detail about The Game Awards 2020 on its own. For instance, in the recent Xbox Game Pass announcement released last December 1, Xbox teased that it will “See you at the Game Awards friend!” As such, it wouldn’t be shocking for Xbox to announce the next round of major Game Pass games to be added to the service at the

The one title that is confirmed not to be at The Game Awards 2020 is Halo Infinite. Developer 343 Industries revealed last month that the game will not be featured in the upcoming event, though an update about its development will be unveiled soon, just at a different venue.

There are several other Xbox first-party games that could be revealed or featured at The Game Awards such as Obsidian’s Avowed, Starfield, or even the new Fable game. It doesn’t have to be just one announcement either. The Initiative’s new project could be showcased later in the show while Game Pass titles might be shown earlier in the event.
