Less than 24 hours after its release, the Xbox Series X owners are already reporting bizarre loud noises coming from the next-gen console, and some seem to be downright defective. After some really trendy theatrics commemorating the release of the consoles, the Xbox Series X is now being criticized to have more than its fair share of problems as reported by owners on Twitter.
It goes without saying that 2020 has been a year composed of almost totally of less fortunate situations for both PlayStation and Xbox as both next-gen consoles have been reported of having their own distinct set of problems lately such as the Xbox Live crashing on release day for the Xbox Series X|S and the PlayStation 5 proven to be susceptible to overheating problems in the incorrect situations.

Not to be surpassed, the Xbox Series X has been reported by various Twitter users making weird noises, supposedly not taking in discs. ScottJamison313 tweeted a video last Monday evening, just before the console’s official release, that featured the Xbox Series X making consistent fast-paced chirping sounds. Hours after Microsoft’s next-gen console’s release day, RWillows posted a video featuring the same problem.
However, the most controversial video came from drnickel, who documented his Xbox Series X not taking in discs, despite frequent attempts. It is uncertain if these problems are in any way related, but these clips are still not what gamers want to witness when trying out their next-gen purchase.
I have an even worse problem 🙁 What would be the best way to get a replacement pic.twitter.com/546UloBRkr

Specifically, in the case of drnickel, the only way to fix the problem is to have the console returned and have it replaced or repaired, and it calls the installation of the disc drive so near the system’s sidewall into question when Microsoft knew the machine would ultimately be packed up and sent off on nationwide and worldwide shipments.
Trying to get a new console replaced when supply is already scarce would most likely be annoying on its own, but consider the current global pandemic and the fact that there may be other owners with the same problem looking for a similar solution, and quickly the fix could become extremely difficult.
Hopefully, at least some of these problems can simply be explained or rectified by a software update from Xbox. The Xbox Series X is meant to be among us in years while providing top-tier performance, but these early videos might end up being a cause for worries. As of writing, Xbox has not issued any official statements regarding the videos.
