Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War’s beta testing will soon be available on the PC in just a few days. Here’s what your PC needs to have in order to play the game.
Activision hasn’t announced the exact release date for their upcoming game Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. However, fans of the series will be getting their first experience of the new game when the open beta begins this weekend.
PlayStation 4 players will be the first to try the Black Ops Cold War via an early access phase beginning October 8, 2020. PC owners will have to wait for a week until October 15 to experience the open beta. With only a week to prepare, here are the requirements your computer needs to have in order to run Black Ops Cold War’s open beta.
To experience the best of Black Ops Cold War, players would need a PC that caters these jaw-dropping requirements:
- OS: Windows 10 64 Bit
- CPU: Intel Core i7 4770k or any counterpart
- HDD: 45GB HD
- RAM: 16GB
- Audio: DirectX 12 compatible system
- Video: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB / GTX 1660 Super 6GB or AMD Radeon R9 390 / AMD RX 580
It is understandable that not all players will have the money to invest in these incredible PC parts. Fortunately, the game’s minimum requirements are not that difficult to achieve. Here are the minimum requirements your PC needs to have in order to run Black Ops Cold War Beta

- CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k or any counterpart
- HDD: 45GB HD
- RAM: 8GB
- Audio: DirectX 12 compatible system
- Video: Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 2GB / GTX 1650 4GB or AMD Radeon HD 7950.
The open beta for Black Ops Cold War will run for two weekends. Thanks to Activision’s partnership with Sony, the first weekend will be exclusively available for PlayStation owners only. Fans who pre-ordered the digital copy will have the right to join the early access on the PlayStation 4 from October 8 until October 9. On October 10, Activision will hold an open beta for all PlayStation 4 owners until October 12.
The next weekend, PC and Xbox owners will get their chance to participate in the open beta. For October 15 and 16, only PC and Xbox players who preordered the digital version will be able to join the early access. Lastly, the open beta for Black Ops Cold War will be open on all platforms from October 17 until October 19, 2020.
The development team has not provided much information about what players can expect on the open beta. It is most likely that beta testers will get to experience the features showcased during the open alpha but probably with more additions.
There will also be two new game modes which will be debuting in the open beta – Fireteam: Dirty Bomb and VIP Escort. The developers haven’t announced any new maps for the open beta but players should anticipate seeing a few new additions to be announced once the beta begins.
