According to the most recent Resident Evil 7 sales update, the horror title has sold 10 million units worldwide, making it the second best-selling Capcom game of all time. Monster Hunter World was Capcom’s best-selling game in March 2018, selling 7.5 million copies in total.
The action RPG achieved such an impressive feat ahead of its PC release, outperforming the publisher’s previous products solely on PS4 and Xbox One. Monster Hunter World has more than doubled that figure in the three years since, surpassing the 17.1 million mark this May. Capcom now has yet another reason to rejoice.
The Japanese publisher confirmed that Resident Evil 7’s sales have surpassed 10 million on the Capcom Dev 1 Twitter account. This achievement solidifies the first-person experience’s place in Capcom’s history, as it is the company’s second best-selling title of all time. See the following celebratory tweet:

Recent Resident Evil releases appear to be selling like hotcakes. The Resident Evil 2 remake, which was released in January 2019, has already sold approximately 9 million copies. RE Village reached the 4.5 million mark just two months after its release. At this rate, both RE2 and this year’s RE Village adventure are on their way to the coveted 10 million copies sold mark.
