Fans can now rest easy knowing that Cyberpunk 2077 will not get delayed any further as CD Projekt Red, the game’s developer, confirmed that everything is ready for its release in November. However, the developers didn’t mention the game’s next-gen editions, even if Nvidia has already demonstrated how Cyberpunk 2077 will look like on advanced hardware as part of the company’s promotion for its latest GeForce RTX GPU.
Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed multiple times due to various reasons. The game was originally scheduled to be released last April but was delayed for a few months after the developers admitted that they weren’t ready to launch the game just yet.
They rescheduled the game’s release in September, although CD Projekt Red announced again that the game would be delayed again, this time until November. According to an insider, the delays were due to the developers wanted to polish the game even better as well as the effects of the coronavirus pandemic which significantly affected the gaming industry as a whole.
Yesterday, CD Projekt Red assures that they will not be delaying Cyberpunk 2077’s release date anymore and that it will be out in the market before this year ends. In a YouTube video talking about the studio’s financial status, CFO Piotr Nielubowicz made it clear that Cyberpunk 2077’s November release is still on track.
In another interview, the studio also announced that Cyberpunk 2077 would have a backward compatibility feature for the next-gen consoles. This means that players who bought the game on release day will have a free upgrade once it is available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
Players will be happy to know that Cyberpunk 2077 will not get any delays anymore. The long-lasting effect of the pandemic on the gaming industry and that most AAA games are getting delayed has led to a lot of concerns that the game will again miss its November release date.
However, with CD Projekt Red assuring that the release date is certain, fans can now worry less knowing that they can soon play this highly-anticipated title in just a few months.
