The revelation was revealed in a teaser trailer in October 2021, before six special recap episodes that aired in Japan on October 25. A teaser trailer for Part 2 was released earlier this year, confirming that the anime will return “this winter” with Episode 76, titled Danzai (this translates to “Judgement” or “sentencing”).

Fans in North America and the United Kingdom will be able to watch the final season on Crunchyroll and Funimation on the same day new episodes air in Japan.

Episode Count

Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Part 2 will have a total of 12 new episodes, according to MAPPA. Because this does not appear to be enough to adapt the rest of Hajime Isayama’s manga series, many speculate that the franchise will end in a feature-length film or a third season of the anime.

Trailers

Shortly after Part 1 of Attack on Titan’s final season ended, a small preview for the following episode was published, and expressive piano music implies that it would be a tragic one.

A 30-second trailer was released in October 2021, featuring a few brief scenes that did not reveal any major spoilers. Still, it foreshadowed more epic Titan battles in the beloved anime series’ final episodes.

Crunchyroll released a new dark teaser for Attack on Titan Season 4, Part 2, in December 2021 to promote the show’s final episodes. The teaser takes us back to some of the anime’s most gruesome scenes, reminding us that Season 4 will have even more dark scenes. Crunchyroll’s trailer may be viewed here:

Plot

Based on where Part 1 left off, Part 2 of Attack on Titan’s final season will almost surely lead to an epic war. Season 4, Part 1, ended with Marley’s surviving military soldiers dropping from the sky on The Shiganshina District in an attempt to capture or kill Eren. A great fight is about to commence, and Eren will be at the epicenter of the show’s main conflict. The early part of the season hinted at Eren’s formation of a new faction that has declared war on both the invading Marley and Eldia.

After Eren Yeager killed innocent residents in an attack on the nation of Marley, the anime took a darker turn. The incident pitted him against many individuals, including former friends who were obliged to stop him. Many people now regard the former hero as an adversary, and a great battle is on the horizon.

According to one interpretation, Eren pretended to help Zeke with his sterilization scheme. Things are about to get more problematic for everyone as the battle between the Eldian and Marleyan races heats up. Of course, Eren has a plan, but we won’t reveal any more details based on how the manga series by Hajime Isayama concluded.

Judgment is the title of Attack on Titan Episode 76, which is the debut episode of the last season, Part 2, while Sneak Attack, which suggests an ambush, is the title of Episode 77.

Cast and Voice Actors

Yuki Kaji, who voices Eren Jaeger in the original Japanese version of the anime, will return for the final season. Marina Inoue will play Armin Arlert, Yui Ishikawa will play Mikasa Ackerman, Takehito Koyasu will play Zeke Jaeger, and Yoshimasa Hosoya will play Reiner Bruan.

In the English dub, Bryce Papenbrook will reprise his role as Eren Jaeger, accompanied by Trina Nishimura as Mikasa Ackerman, Josh Grelle as Armin Arlert, Jason Liebrecht as Zeke Jaeger, and Robert McCollum as Reiner Braum.

A new Attack on Titan illustration was also released ahead of the midseason debut, and it depicts Eren Jaeger, Reiner, Hange, and Levi in unusual outfits.

Where To Watch

Crunchyroll and Funimation will have Attack on Titan Season 4, Part 2 accessible to watch. Both networks announced the news on their respective social media accounts.

The final episodes will air on the NHK General TV channel in Japan on Sunday, January 9 at 12:05 a.m. JST, coinciding with the anime’s global release on the same day.
