Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, a battle royale platformer from Mediatonic, will soon be available on PlayStation 4 and PC. Players compete to win different mini-games, with the winning players progressing to the next level. The famous indie game was released in August 2020, and Mediatonic has continued to promote it with updates and seasonal events.
Fall Guys is now in its fourth season, which gives the cartoonish series a neon sci-fi aesthetic. Season 4 of the unique indie platformer has introduced a slew of new mini-games, holding fans on their toes as they adapt to brand-new goals.
Seven additional activities have been introduced to the game, including an anti-gravity basketball game and a hoverboard competition. The start of the new season also heralds the arrival of new skins for the title, which will be available during the season.
A notable cosmetic skin that was recently introduced to the game is a cross between Shovel Knight and another successful indie platformer. This gleaming blue skin encourages players to dress up as the titular hero when competing for dominance against other Fall Guys players.
According to a recent tweet from the official Fall Guys Twitter account, the game’s next major update will include a host of new features. Season 4.5 will introduce two new rounds as well as 55 new variations to the game.
The inclusion of cross-platform matchmaking, which will enable PlayStation 4 and PC gamers to play online together, is probably the most exciting news. Both PS4 and PC gamers will be able to build custom lobbies, and these fans will be able to matchmake in all game modes. Players of separate programs, on the other hand, would not be able to form parties. On May 13, the Season 4.5 update will be published.

Cross-platform play between PlayStation 4 and PC players will help unite the Fall Guys player base, and this push for crossplay doesn’t end there. Versions of the game for Xbox and Nintendo Switch were expected to release in summer 2021, but these versions were recently delayed until an unspecified future date.
However, it is expected that the Xbox and Nintendo Switch versions of Fall Guys will come complete with cross-platform play, allowing the game’s entire player base to compete regardless of which system they own.
For online multiplayer games such as Fall Guys, cross-platform play is an invaluable way to unite and maintain a single devoted player base. Separating online play between systems risks alienating part of a community and increasing its time to find a match. PlayStation 4 and PC players will soon be able to play the game together, eliminating any division between fans.
