Even though Grand Theft Auto 5 has been in the market for quite a long time now, the game was able to stay relevant not only because of the fact that it’s set to launch on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X but also because a part of it lives on in GTA Online, which still receives ongoing support from Rockstar Games.
As a matter of fact, the online title recently released brand-new content in the form of the Cayo Perico Heist update, which gives players the ability to pilot a submarine as well as access a luxurious private island.
Now, even more new content has been introduced to the game, and we’re sure that music lovers will appreciate this one because the new update allows players to virtually gather together to listen and appreciate “live” music.
There’s a new house and techno club that recently opened in-game called The Music Locker, and it’s situated underneath the Diamond Casino & Resort in Los Santos. Rockstar Games already teased the release of this new nightclub though, even before the Cayo Perico Heist update was officially launched.

That being said, Rockstar Games’ Newswire reveals that The Music Locker officially opened its door to the public with Keinemusik and Palms Trax, a Berlin electronic music group and a UK house artist, respectively.
The game’s official website also states that Kenny “Moodymann” Dixon Jr., who happens to be an owner of a record label and a producer at the same time, will become a resident DJ in the new underground nightclub as well.
In an interview with beatportal, Rockstar Games’ Music Director Ivan Pavlovich touts that these real-world performers who have become GTA Online NPCs are “not tacked-on in any way,” as they have also been integrated into the new update’s storyline.
Since these new characters play a crucial role, Rockstar Games has introduced brand-new DJ Missions for players to complete. Doing these missions will supposedly help the new artists settle into the game, and in fact, players should be able to start doing these missions by now.
According to Pavlovich, Rockstar Games decided to add The Music Locker in an effort to create a safe space where players can relax and escape from the troubling reality brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Asides from the official opening of The Music Locker though, GTA Online now has two new radio stations for players to tune into. One of the new stations aims to make Joy Orbison’s pirate station more popular, while the other one streams the live sets from The Music Locker itself.
Among other things, the Newswire that details all the new content that arrived in GTA Online also mentioned two new vehicles that players can acquire, namely the Dinka Veto Modern and the Grotti Itali RSX sports car.
In addition to that, players can also enjoy several bonuses that came with the Cayo Perico Heist update, as well as discounts.
With all that said, it definitely makes sense now why Rockstar Games touted this to be the biggest musical update so far in the history of GTA Online.
