‘Unpacking’

This multi-award-winning game is simple. You unpack, as the title suggests. You take stuff out of boxes and place them in the house you just moved into. As cozy as that sounds, it doesn’t mean that the game is boring. Your interactions with those items and their new home are pretty dramatic. It’s a game you can play to break the ice from playing fervid titles or when you need to relax after a day at work.  

‘Spiritfarer’

“Spiritfarer” is unique in that it merges heavy themes of loss and grief with stunning visuals, memorable characters, and endearing gameplay. Ferry souls to what appears to be a floating bed and breakfast you can manage while you farm, fish, cook, craft, and even hug your way across the game’s mystical seas. Truly unforgettable.

‘A Short Hike’

This game is cozy. This game is indie. Nothing beats the fun of hearing animals talk, smelling some roses, and listening to a lovely soundtrack. “A Short Hike” is as good as it sounds. You find secrets, help people out, or simply explore the world across your hike. There are a lot of joyous and wonderful moments to make in this game. Remember: Your journey is sometimes more important than your destination. 

‘New Pokémon Snap’

“New Pokémon Snap” is the coziest game in the “Pokémon” franchise. It may rekindle that nostalgia for the avid fans of the Nintendo 64 version, but you won’t need to play that version to enjoy the menagerie of this game. You can throw apples, take photos, and venture into colorful realms filled with wild Pokémons — no pressure to embark on a time-consuming and energy-draining quest. 

‘Untitled Goose Game’

Upon reading this game’s title, you know that it will be very easy on the feeling. Well, “Untitled Goose Game” doesn’t have a very trying-hard title. Why would it? It features a horrible goose terrorizing a village but with a classic piano soundtrack playing in the background. Sweet and spicy! What could be cozier than that? 

Specifically, this viral game is about a naughty goose who fancies stealing stuff and honking loudly. Appreciate its funny antics, such as stealing a man’s chair so he falls and trapping a kind in a phone box. Annoying yet humorous.

‘Cozy Grove’

Another game that will remind you of “Animal Crossing” is “Cozy Grove.” What transpires here is that you, a Spirit Scout, get on a haunted island filled with hand-drawn landscapes that come alive as you explore the island’s campgrounds, doing your duty assisting spirits in need of help. Each day, you get access to new quest content. How about that?

‘Yoku’s Island Express’

What makes a cozy game great is the time and effort its creators spend to think about its features. In “Yoku’s Island Express,” you get bugs in pinball. No vampires. No goblins. No overly heroic main character. 

Here, you play as a tiny beetle who must deliver posts in pinball style. Plus, you’ll also learn about the inhabitants of an island and their secrets. We know you’re already itching to play it. This game is a testament that your size doesn’t define your capabilities. And don’t laugh when we say no bugs were harmed in the production of this game. 

‘Life Is Strange: True Colors’

Meanwhile, this game brings you into the life of a young woman named Alex Chen, who has supernatural abilities and whose goal is to solve the mystery of her brother’s demise. In “Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker,” you get to play with toads before they become cooler. The game is pretty proud of the fact that it personifies the mushrooms in the “Super Mario Bros.” franchise. Also here, the best Toad of all toads, Captain Toad, is vindicated. 

It’s a puzzle game that’s nothing short of being beautiful. Encounter three-dimensional vignettes you can rotate to discover the solutions. Want to relax with your friends or family? Play the multiplayer mode.

‘Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion’

We love that title! Don’t get stressed out. Read that again. It’s actually a turnip who has committed tax evasion! Yes. You take on the role of a mischievous turnip evicted after failing to pay their taxes. This turnip is also not wholly evil as they are willing to take on an adventure to pay back Mayor Onion. You solve puzzles, lightly battle some enemies, and meet other garden folk. Now, here’s the twist. There’s actually corruption behind this veggie government. Shhh!

YouTuber, Boxer Jake Paul Launches Men’s Personal Care Line On Walmart

It’s interesting how today’s influencers are turning into business moguls, such as Jake Paul. The boxer, YouTuber, and venture capitalist launched his newest men’s personal care line on Wednesday. The products are available exclusively at Walmart. 

‘Win’

His new men’s personal care line is called “W,” short for “win.” It features three products you can start with: a body wash, body spray, and antiperspirant deodorant. The deodorant comes in three scents: Original, Fresh Ice, and Deep Woods. 

Five more products are reportedly launching soon: a two-in-one shampoo and conditioner, face wash, bar soap, hair gel, and pomade. 

The products are available exclusively at Walmart stores, Walmart online, and the brand’s official website, GetW.com.

Made in the United States, everything in the catalog is under $10.

‘My baby’

What inspired him to create such an in-demand brand was when he was still a regular guy walking into a CVS Pharmacy store years back. He was there to buy some men’s products. He was so disappointed with the options on the store shelves, so he decided to make his own instead.

“Nothing had changed, and [I knew] that I could create a better product with better formulas,” he said.

However, he admitted getting “a bit nervous” about this undertaking.

“We’ve put so much work into this for the past two years. This is, like, my baby. It’s my vision,” Paul told the media. “I came up with the name, the product, the category, all the scents, everything. This is my reign, this is my biggest creation. Definitely nervous to see how the world receives it.”

Locations Of The Astronomy Tables In ‘Hogwarts Legacy’

North Ford Bog

There is one Astronomy Table in the North Ford Bog. It is at the castle’s base, looking east. 

Forbidden Forest

Forbidden Forest is home to another Astronomy Table. It is located east of the Floo Flame, West Forbidden Forest, or just south of the Hippogriff Den.

Hogsmeade Valley

Hogsmeade Valley is keeping one Astronomy Table. To find it, proceed near the cliff edge overlooking the Forbidden Forest or simply west of Upper Hogsfield. 

South Hogwarts Region

There is one Astronomy Table here. Specifically, it is up on the hilltop to the left where you spawned after fast-traveling to the Forbidden Forest Floo Flame. Your landmark will be the border with the North Hogwarts Region.

Hogwarts

Of course, Hogwarts. There’s one Astronomy Table here. As you fly around Hogwarts’ south region, proceed to the greenhouse just next to the castle. Once you’re there, cast the Revelio spell, and you’ll see the Table highlighted in blue. Okay, it’s on the castle wall, protruding a bit from the main space.

Hogwarts Valley

Alright, Hogwarts Valley this time. There are two Astronomy Tables here. The first is on the hilltop just southwest of Brocburrow. The second is above the castle ruins southeast of Keenbridge. 

Feldcroft Region

There are not just one but two Tables in the region of Feldcroft. Find the first nearby two Small Bandit Camps in Feldcroft’s northern section, right next to some Balloons.  

Find the second Astronomy Table north of the Floo Flame. The place you’re looking for is South Feldcroft.

Poidsear Coast

Find the sole Astronomy Table in this location on the bridge’s opposite side, outside the Floo Flame, with the label South Poidsear Coast.

Marunweem Lake

You don’t find the names of the places here weird, do you? Marunweem Lake is the site of the following Astronomy Table. Head to the region’s northeast. It’s just right to a Treasure Vault.

Manor Cape

The Manor Cape is keeping one Astronomy Table. It’s in the region’s southernmost tip, inside the castle ruins.

Cragcroftshire

The next Astronomy Table is on a hilltop, Cragcroft’s south.

Clagmar Coast

Ah, you’ve reached the last location for your Astronomy Table. To find it, head to the hill northeast of the Floo Flame labeled South Clagmar Coast.

How To Use Your Astronomy Table

Note that you’ll never be able to interact with Astronomy Tables until you have completed the Astronomy Class main quest. Watch this YouTube video for a walkthrough of this quest. But this quest is straightforward to unlock. 

Once the quest is complete, you can now start using a Table. Another requirement: it should be nighttime. You cannot interact with the Astronomy Table if it is daytime or sometime between day and night. You can change the time of day by proceeding to the world map, pressing the Wait button, and confirming your choice. 

Here’s another note. Once you’ve solved an Astronomy Table puzzle in a particular location, you won’t be able to interact with that same table anymore. The Moon icon will also get removed from the map. However, casting the Revelio spell will still make the Table glow. 

During nighttime, proceed to the location of an Astronomy Table and interact with it. 

Turning your attention to your screen’s bottom-right area will allow you to zoom in and out, and rotate the constellation clockwise or counterclockwise. Also, some Tables will require you to slightly adjust the telescope’s aim to get the constellation right. Well, the goal here is to position the telescope until the blue constellation outline matches correctly with the stars behind it. 

Not activating? You can re-zoom, re-rotate, or review the angle until the constellation matches up with the stars. 

Once it has activated, you will see a drawing and what the constellation represents. This time, you can now proceed to the next Astronomy Table.

Origin stories in pop culture are very fascinating to explore. You may be familiar with the origin story of Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty” villain, Maleficent, discussed in the 2014 self-titled film. Disney also managed to narrate the origin story of “101 Dalmatians” archenemy Cruella de Vil in a recent movie titled “Cruella,” portrayed by 2024 Oscars Best Actress, Emma Stone. Of course, will we forget about the dramatic telling of the origin stories of Batman’s villains in Fox’s “Gotham”?

In gaming, learning the origin stories of game characters is also worth your time, such as the disgusting Rat King in “The Last of Us Part II.” Did you know that its origins date back to the 16th century? This and more as you read on.

The Rat King

The Rat King is the name given to a terrifying Infected in the second game in “The Last of Us” franchise. It is a superorganism comprised of several clickers, stalkers, and a bloater that the Cordyceps fungus has connected together. It may be named a “rat,” but its size is almost the same as that of a human!

Its Origins

The Rat King isn’t something Naughty Dog just thought of out of nowhere. It’s actually based on history. The first known sighting of a Rat King was in 1576 when servants in Antwerp, a city in Belgium, stumbled upon seven rats with tails tied together in a knot. Just imagining that is already disgusting. Rat Kings then became a staple in folklore horror, inspiring several storytellers, including even Stephen King.

If you ask how those rats managed to tie their tails together in a knot, it’s actually by accident. So happened that their tails got tied together while asleep. It has been said that they eventually die after this. 

It is also interesting to note that rats were also the carriers of the world’s first pandemic, the bubonic plague, which came from fleas on rats, whose second wave was during the 1500s (the first wave was in the 14th century).

This Rat King from the 16th century became the basis of Naughty Dog’s Cordyceps virus – and it had been years in the making. Interesting.

The developer had actually been in possession of the idea of including the Rat King in the game, but they found no place to put it. 

“Even during development of the first game, we were thinking about what two infected stuck together would look like,” Anthony Newman, co-director of “The Last of Us Part II,” said. “Visually, it was just a really exciting idea.” 

They almost gave up as the monster was eventually set aside as Naughty Dog struggled to find a scene where it could belong within Joel and Ellie’s original journey. 

But, all hope isn’t lost when, several years later, the studio storyboarded a trial-by-fire sequence for Abby, the second protagonist in the game. That was when the Rat King found its place.

How To Defeat The Rat King

So, how do you beat the Rat King when you encounter it in the game? The first is just to run away. From the moment the Rat King attacks, just run away and never turn back. Keep running until you get to an open space where Abby will say she’s willing to fight back. A way forward will present itself to you.

But once you’re in the open space, don’t go looking for an exit. The only way out is by killing the Rat King. Use some incendiary shotgun shells to shoot it. Or, use your flamethrower to blast it. But you must still keep running. If the Rat King breaks into a couple of clickers, use a shiv to kill them.

Standing your ground and shooting are not the best moves, as you’ll just get defeated. Short bursts are ideal for the Rat King’s downfall.

Maximize this potential by investing in Arcane and Dexterity stats, then equipping the armor that boosts its bleed resistance and stamina. The best complements for this are stamina recovery, health generation, and attack power-enhancing talismans. They all ensure consistent offensive pressure and survivability in prolonged combats. Furthermore, this build thrives on keeping relentless aggression that can overwhelm opponents with truly devastating bleed effects.

Equipment

In order to maximize the potential of the Rivers of Blood katana, it must be complemented with particular equipment. Let’s review. The key stats for this build are Arcane and Dexterity, enhancing its bleed damage and overall effectiveness. Thus, the recommended armor must focus on striking a balance between protection and movement, ensuring you can dodge and strike at their peak.

Where To Find And How To Get This

But, before you can use this katana, you must obtain it. You can find Rivers of Blood at the Mountaintops of the Giants, a late-game area. As soon as you’ve gained access to this biome via the main questline, you will find the Church of Repose southeast of your map. But, as you approach this charge, Bloody Finger Okina, a non-player character, will invade you. He wields the Rivers of Blood katana. It’s his, so if you want it, you must take it from him. You want it? He got it. Sounds like an Ariana Grande song, right?

Fighting Bloody Finger Okina is not going to be easy, unfortunately. His aggressiveness can inflict a lot of blood loss and pretty major damage. He’s not called such for nothing, right?

Grab the opportunity to punish him when he attempts to heal and keep your counter-aggression going, as this will benefit you. 

Tips To Defeat Okina

Here are some tips to lead Okina to his downfall.

1. Move With Jump Attacks, They Can Do Wonders

As with battling other invader bosses in the game, jump attacks are capable of dealing damage without risking it all. These quick attacks can stagger Okina and keep him at a distance when you’re all set to make him fall.

2. Ranged Skills And Sorceriers Will Also Help

Note that Okina is extremely dangerous at the melee range. So, if you are not very confident with your dodging abilities, be content with ranged skills such as Moonveil’s Transient Moonlight or Sorceries such as Glintblade Phalanx. 

3. Dodge The Katana’s Corpse Piler

At this point, you will preview the katana’s Corpse Piler ability, which you can use once you’ve owned the katana. But this time, you must first work hard to get it. If Okina makes judicial utilization of Corpse Piler, simply dodge it diagonically backward. Repeat the process, staying clear of Okina’s follow-up attacks. Your hard work will pay off.

4. Accelerate Your Robustness Stat

In this Bus Tunnel, you will find a lockbox. Putting a Batter inside will hand you a note asking you to place a Rainbow Shell in the Train Platform Box. You can find this Rainbow Shell as you forage on the Beach. As soon as you put the Rainbow Shell in the Train Platform Box, you will receive a new note tasking you to fill Mayor Lewis’ refrigerator with 10 Beets. Mayor Lewis is the mayor of Pelican Town. 

We will assume you have planted and harvested these Beets. If you haven’t, you might need to purchase Beets seeds from Sandy at the Oasis. Sandy is a villager living in the Desert. However, these seeds only grow during the Fall. 

Once you have what you need, you’ll run into the third part of The Mysterious Qi quest, which is to give the Sand Dragon his final meal. 

You will find an enormous dragon skeleton in Calico Desert’s southwest region. Walk up to this skull and use a Solar Essence to “feed” the skull. Solar Essence is a Monster Loot item. At this point, you’ve likely gathered a lot of Solar Essences after defeating Ghosts in the mine. 

As you finish “feeding” the skull, you will receive a last note informing you to check the woodpile at your house. You will then get your reward, a Club Card, as well as access to the back room of Sandy in her shop.

Players of the hit Viking game “Valheim,” read on. You are in for a special treat!

Apple welcomes “Valheim” today, June 10th, as the game launches on Mac, Steam, and the App Store. 

The upcoming survival and sandbox video game, which also recently released the highly anticipated Ashlands update, recently announced on X that it will launch with complete crossplay support between the various versions.

Here’s the official statement from @Valheimgame on X: “We have an announcement for you this fine Tuesday! #Valheim is coming to Mac, and it’s happening next week! (emoji) There will, of course, be full crossplay support.”

“Valheim’s” X account also attached a photo laying out the game’s art with the logo of Apple. 

However, the game’s developer did not release any information about which Mac devices “Valheim” will run on, such as if gamers need a Mac equipped with Apple M1 or M2, or whether the older Intel models will be compatible with the game. 

What’s very certain is that “Valheim” is coming to both Apple’s App Store and Steam. This is good news for those who already own the survival and sandbox game on Steam, as you won’t need to purchase the game again on Apple’s platform. 

“Valheim’s” X account also interacted with the community, which posted questions and clarifications about the announcement. The developers noted they will not support Mac mods. They haven’t technically been supporting mods on any platform, they added.

Of course, the gaming community is hyped about this news. The post had already garnered more than 97,000 views as of press time.
