RUMOR: Setting For Call of Duty 2021 May Have Been Leaked

At this point, there’s a lot of speculation and theories circulating the gaming community with regards to Call of Duty 2021. However, a recent leak has caused even more of a hubbub among the fans. When Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was first revealed to the general public, the first-person shooter caught the community by surprise—leading to incredible sales worldwide.

As such, it’s highly possible that the upcoming shooter will center around the Korean War, as that historic event also took place around the same time period.

Even though Okami claims that ModernWarzone, a prominent leaker, is the source of this leak, there’s currently no evidence of this on ModernWarzone’s account. At the moment, the leaker hasn’t said much about Call of Duty 2021, so Okami’s post is currently the only evidence of the claim.

If this claim does turn out to be true, though, this would be the first time that the Call of Duty franchise delves into the Korean War. Although Advanced Warfare did take place during the Second Korean War, the first one hasn’t been explored just yet. That being said, fans’ speculations indicate that the franchise may be avoiding the Korean War because the battle was essentially an impasse.

So, even though it would be an interesting location and an even more interesting time period to dive into, many fans believe that it would be difficult for the game to have a conclusion if the ending was a stalemate.

That being said, the way fans think has changed throughout the years, and a Call of Duty game with no clear winner may be what the community wants now. Many Call of Duty titles in the past put a special emphasis on multiplayer battles, which meant that either party had every chance of winning.

Besides, there’s a plethora of unknown variables in the popular franchise, and traveling in time back to the Korean War would definitely be an interesting risk that many would be willing to take. Game Freak, the studio responsible for developing the Pokemon video game franchise, recently released an update for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. One thing that it changed in the update, which was a pleasant surprise for the players upon discovery, is the game’s animations. Specifically, players noticed that the animations for sleeping Pokemon were tweaked to make them look like they’re, well, actually sleeping.

In the past, the Pokemon in both Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield didn’t have animation for when they were sleeping—they were simply shown standing up with open eyes, which doesn’t really depict sleeping in any way. Recently, players have noticed that there’s a new sleeping animation wherein bubbles and the letter Z pop out to show that the particular Pokemon is sleeping.

That being said, the developer still hasn’t released a patch note detailing this change. While fans discovered this new change only recently, it hasn’t been confirmed yet when Game Freak implemented this update exactly.

This particular update was noticed by Reddit user Feelinara1992, who posted on the Pokemon Sword and Shield subReddit. The fan shared a clip of a Shiny Sylveon that’s fast asleep—and the other trainers in the community were definitely happy about the update. Sadly, there’s a catch to this: this specific animation will only show up while players are camping.

This means that fans won’t be seeing this new animation with the bubbles and Z’s when Pokemon get hit with the Sleep move during battle. Still, it’s better than nothing. Even though this Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield update may not be as significant or as sizeable as other video game updates, it was still extremely well-received by the community. ZeniMax Online Studios, the ZeniMax subsidiary responsible for Elder Scrolls Online, has taken to Twitter to reveal tons of job openings in the company for hopeful designers, engineers, artists, and more. The developers encouraged followers to check their website to look through the different positions available for the popular hit MMO set in the sprawling region of Tamriel along with “multiple unannounced projects.”

The jobs available form quite the collection, ranging from producers to animators and artists, designers, and various kinds of engineers. It appears the hiring flurry for new projects has not stopped since October, when ZeniMax Online Studios revealed it was developing a new AAA game, although with such a wide range of job openings on the list it is still hard to get a sense of what that new game, or any of the other undertakings ZeniMax hinted at, might look like. Several of the jobs available are for positions on the Elder Scrolls Online team as well such as senior writer, monetization designer, and combat designer.

ZeniMax Online Studios is not the only developer currently hiring, though at 50 job openings it does seem to have the most positions available at the moment. New Tekken 7 Mod Adds Final Fantasy 7’s Tifa Lockheart

If you’re familiar with Final Fantasy 7, then you’d know the fighting style of the character Tifa Lockheart. With that in mind, it’s actually quite surprising that she hasn’t made an appearance that much in fighting games that feature crossover playable characters, unlike other characters from the same game such as Sephiroth or Cloud, who are a part of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s roster.

As such, one fan has decided to take things into their own hands by creating a Tekken 7 mod that adds Tifa Lockheart as an unofficial guest fighter. The fan who created and uploaded the mod, Wolfe, isn’t a stranger to fan projects such as this though. Their work in this mod is actually quite impressive—they didn’t just introduce Tifa to the game, they also added in a new stage that’s based on one of the locations in Final Fantasy 7 in order to match with the character.

What’s more, Tifa wasn’t just ported to Tekken 7, which is usually the case with mods. No, it appears that Wolfe specifically created the Tifa model in order to match Tekken’s visuals and art style. To be more specific, though, Tifa actually works as a replacement for Josie, who is originally a part of Tekken 7’s roster. However, her move set works well for the Square Enix character.

The mod offers various alternate outfits for Tifa as well, including her flashback cowgirl outfit, her dress from Final Fantasy 7: Remake, as well as her outfit from Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children. According to the mod’s creator, they’re still currently working on Tifa’s Exotic Dress, which is reportedly 90% complete.

That being said, the mod has its issues too. At the time of writing, the outfits sometimes encounter clipping and physics issues. However, this hasn’t stopped Wolfe from supporting the game. What makes this new stage even more interesting is the fact that it has a night and day feature. While it may not be a major addition, it makes the inclusion of Tifa even better, as she blends pretty well with the area. Besides, the fact that Tifa comes with her own Final Fantasy 7-themed stage makes her feel like an official addition to Tekken 7—even though she’s completely fan made!

While Tifa may not be getting as much love as other characters from the highly acclaimed game, it’s great that talented modders like Wolfe are capable of including her into other video games, offering Tifa fans more content than ever before. If mods like this get enough praise and attention, who knows? Perhaps developers will come to realize that Tifa would be a great fit for most titles in the fighting game genre.

It’s unsurprising too, given what the game had to offer; Red Dead Redemption 2 featured an impressive open-world environment, along with incredible attention to detail that can’t be said of every contemporary video game. Not only that, the game’s storytelling is top-tier. Mix all those positive features together and we get a one-of-a-kind gameplay experience.

Now, there’s one other thing that fans loved about Red Dead Redemption 2, and that’s its music. The game’s players and critics alike praised Woody Jackson’s original soundtrack, and it was so well-received that it was nominated 8 times during The Games Awards 2018—winning a total of 4 awards at the end of the event. These awards included Best Performance, Best Score/Soundtrack, and Best Narrative.

Although Rockstar Games already released the full soundtrack of Red Dead Redemption 2 back in 2019, the studio has decided to launch a 5-track music album entitled The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2: The Housebuilding EP. This name is a reference to the first track which is “The Housebuilding Song,” a well-loved piece amongst the community, as it brings forth memories of good moments from the franchise.

For the title track, fans will find that David Ferguson himself performs in it. On the other hand, NYC guitarist Mark Sweeny plays a part in most of the tracks in the album. As briefly mentioned, interested fans can purchase or listen to the album through digital means or through a physical record. For those who want to check the 5 tracks digitally, they can do so via Spotify, iTunes, and other mainstream streaming platforms.

On the other hand, those who prefer the latter can purchase a beautifully made physical vinyl EP either through Rockstar Warehouse or Lakeshore Records. We imagine that copies of this will only come in a limited supply, so definitely grab the opportunity to purchase a copy before stock runs out.

As one can discern from the game’s title, Red Dead Redemption 2 is all about, well, redemption. In this game, we find that the main protagonist is essentially trying to create a new life not only for himself, but for his loved ones as well. The video game—which is all about living one’s life as an old outlaw along with its many difficulties—is a jarring contrast to the hopeful and lively title track in The Housebuilding EP.

While the other pieces may not be as popular as the title track, they’re still able to convey the same heartwarming feeling that transports players back to Red Dead Redemption’s western world. Narrative and plot isn’t the only thing that’s vital when it comes to video games; its music plays an important role as well.

For Red Dead Redemption 2, it seems that Rockstar Games was able to do most if not all things right—from its immersive narrative, to its atmospheric musical pieces.
